Abstract SiC whisker (SiCw)‐reinforced composites were prepared by an oscillatory pressure sintering (OPS) process, and the effects of SiCw content on microstructure mechanical tribological properties such investigated. The addition could promote formation long columnar α‐SiC, aspect ratio α‐SiC grains first increased then decreased with increase content. When was 5.42 wt%, relative density SiC–SiCw composite reached up to 99.45%. SiC–5.42 wt% possessed highest Vickers hardness, fracture...

Open-cell ceramic foams are widely used as filters for the purification of molten metals due to their high permeability and efficiency capturing non-metallic inclusions. With consideration manufacture filtration behaviour, most produced by replica methods. The intrinsic multiscale porous structure requires have sufficient strength. As a consequence, different processing approaches, material compositions characterizations investigated. Meanwhile, further enhance performance, functionalization...

In grouting practices for tunneling in loose deposits, the traditional materials often suffer from its disadvantages, such as prolonged gel times, poor stability, an uncontrollable range of diffusion, and large grout consumption. this study, organic–inorganic hybrid chemical material based on polymerization hydrogen double bonds, Ca-C connection excellent synergistic interactions among cement, polyethylene glycol (PEG) 200, sodium silicate, polycarboxylate superplasticizer (PS) was prepared...

Abstract It remains as a challenge to develop binderless WC ceramics that integrate high mechanical properties and low friction wear. Here, we report the preparation of strong tough with wear rate by adding graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) using oscillatory pressure sintering (OPS) process. The introduced GNPs lead formation nearly fully dense composites aid an pressure. OPS‐prepared WC–0.3‐wt% reached flexural strength, hardness, fracture toughness, being up 1420 MPa, 24.9 GPa, 6.89 MPa m 1/2...
