In this study, a novel polyethyleneimine (PEI) modified MOF-derived carbon adsorbent (PEI@MDC) was proposed, which exhibited significant adsorption capacity for Congo Red (CR) in aqueous solutions. FT-IR and XPS results showed that PEI successfully grafted onto MDC, increasing the content of amine groups on surface MDC. The process conformed to Langmuir isotherm model pseudo-second-order kinetic equation, indicating CR PEI@MDC covered by single layer, controlled chemical processes. According...
Abstract To reveal the influence of diversity precursors on formation environmental persistent free radicals (EPFRs), pomelo peel (PP) and its physically divided portion, cuticle (PC), white fiber (WF) were used as to prepare six hydrochars: PPH-Fe, PCH-Fe, WFH-Fe, PPH, PCH, WFH with without Fe(III) addition during hydrothermal carbonization (HTC). PPH-Fe WFH-Fe had higher EPFRs content (9.11 × 10 18 8.25 spins·g −1 ) compared PPH (3.33 2.96 ), indicating that iron-doping favored formation....
Bagasse is one of major by-product sugar mills, but its utilization limited by the high concentration lignin. In this study, optimal alkaline hydrogen peroxide (AHP) treatment conditions were determined response surface optimization method. The results showed that lignin removal rate was 62.23% and solid recovery 53.76% when bagasse prepared under (1.2% H2O2, 0.9% NaOH, 46°C for 12.3 h), while higher purity insoluble dietary fiber (BIDF) obtained. To further investigate modification effect,...
Co-liquefaction is an emerging technology aimed at enhancing bio-oil yield and quality, compensating for decrease in feedstock, increasing productivity, adding revenue to bio-refineries. This study delves into the influence of plastic waste (PW) types during co-liquefaction with cotton gin trash (CGT) on quality produced crude oil. Various plastics, including PLA (polylactic acid), PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), LDPE (low-density polyethylene), HDPE (high-density...
Flexible photonic materials derived from cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) have attracted significant attention, particularly in multifunctional sensors, intelligent detection, and anti-counterfeiting applications. However, the major bottleneck with traditional CNC is provision of flexibility properties which often comes compromises optical properties. To address these challenges, we incorporated organosolv lignin nanoparticles (LNPs) polyethylene glycol (PEG) into films. LNPs were produced...
The development of volatile compounds and their precursors during the dehydration process membrane-clarified sugarcane juice to non-centrifugal sugar (NCS) was investigated. Head-space solid phase microextraction/gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC–MS) coupled with chemometrics employed assess differences at various stages process. A total 111 were identified, among which 57 endogenous from displayed an attenuated abundance in first 30 min. Typical oxygen nitrogen heterocyclic...
The clarification of sugarcane juice is a crucial stage in the sugar manufacturing process, as it affects evaporator performance, quality and yield. emergence environmentally friendly efficient adsorption technology has resulted widespread interest carbon-based materials. However, their low capacity reusability make them unsuitable for processing juice. Here, we provide cost-effective sustainable method to dope hydroxyapatite (HAP) nanoparticles on porous carbon (BBC) derived from bagasse...
Summary During processing and low‐temperature storage, pH change affects the stability of sugarcane juice. This study investigated colloidal aggregation mechanisms membrane‐filtered juice at range 2.5–9.5. The aggregate formation were speculated based on compositional variations in different pH. When was lower than 6.03, driven by electrostatic effect, wherein proteins, polysaccharides phenolic compounds interact, hence increase average particle size turbidity. absolute value zeta potential...
