In galaxy mergers, dual quasars - two actively accreting supermassive black holes (SMBHs) provide a unique opportunity to study the interplay between dynamics and quasar activity. However, very little is known about their molecular gas, which fuels star formation this study, we map kinematics of cold gas in J0749+2255, 3.8 kpc separation at z=2.17 using Atacama Large Millimeter Array (ALMA) Band 4. We detect CO(4-3)650um, shows remarkably complex morphological kinematic structures. While...

Abstract We compare the radial profiles of specific star formation rate (sSFR) in a sample 169 star-forming galaxies close pairs with those mass-matched control SDSS-IV MaNGA survey. find that sSFR is centrally enhanced (within one effective radius) interacting by ∼0.3 dex and there weak suppression outskirts ∼0.1 dex. stack difference for five stellar-mass bins range log( M / ⊙ ) = 9.0–11.5 enhancement has no dependence on stellar mass. The same result obtained when comparison are matched...

Merger simulations predict that tidally induced gas inflows can trigger kpc-scale dual active galactic nuclei (dAGN) in heavily obscured environments.
