Abstract There is no way of predicting whether a patient with recurrent oral ulcerations (ROU) will develop Behçet's disease (BD). In the absence valid laboratory test to exclude BD, such result in diagnostic problem when they occur as sole and earliest manifestation disease. We assessed prognosis ROU by performing prospective evaluations 67 patients who had only history were registered at Disease Specialty Clinic Severance Hospital Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. Thirty‐five (52.2%)...

The efficacy of silk peptide in treatment atopic dermatitis was examined a picryl chloride-induced model NC/Nga mice. Silk ameliorated the development by lowering serum IgE concentration. Treatment cultured spleen cells with reduced production enhancing IFN-γ and reducing level IL-4. functional peptides were identified as mixture GAGA sequences containing mass spectrometry vitro assay. Our findings indicate that exerts an effect on modulating Th1/Th2 balance.

ABSTRACT This report describes fabrication of a millimeter‐scale three‐dimensional (3D) multicellular structure with central cavity based on magnetic levitation 3T3 cells that had ingested Fe 3 O 4 ‐containing microcapsules. Magnetically levitated initially formed disc‐shaped cell cluster at the air‐medium interface and transformed into spheroid (up to 2.8 mm in diameter) after 10‐day incubation under magnet. Hematoxylin‐and‐eosin‐stained section revealed an eosinophilic shell enclosed...

Cellular uptake of a protein microsphere was investigated in vitro. Fibroin microspheres with an average diameter approximately 1 µm were prepared Fluorescein isothiocyanate–dextran for the fluorescent core. Tomography, performed using confocal laser scanning microscopy, confirmed into cytoplasmic area 3T3 cells. Flow cytometry showed that cellular proportional to co-incubation time and concentration. It also revealed fibroin internalised by cells at different rates depending on cell cycle...

Abstract An elaborate control of fibroin self‐assembly is critical in determining the size, structure, and release properties a microcapsule. This report describes preparation microspheres submicron range using an aqueous solution nanoemulsified decane with mixed detergent Tween 80 Span 80. Nanodispersed water droplets containing molecules were dried under vacuum to facilitate coalescence then transformed suspended particles 200–1200 nm diameter. The method was also applied encapsulate...

Background: The capability for DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) repair is crucial inherent radiosensitivity of tumor and normal cells. We have investigated the clinicopathologic significance gene expression in nasopharyngeal (NP) carcinoma. Materials Methods: A total 65 NP cancer patients who received radiotherapy were included. immunopositivity to Ku 70, DNA-PKcs, MRN, RAD50, XRCC4, LIG4 examined all tissues. Results: comprised 42 males 23 females, with a median age 56 years (range, 18-84)....

To prevent the shrinkage of aloe vera slices during air drying, a method utilizing shrink-proof layer was developed. The sample configured whole leaf slices, where 1 side or both sides were covered with filter papers as layers. After drying by varying temperature and slice thickness, characteristics, well several quality factors dried analyzed. In simulation curves, modified Page model showed best fitness, representing diffusion-controlled mechanism. Nonetheless, there trace constant-rate...

Abstract The clinical features and histopathologic findings of a 54‐year‐old Korean male who had retained the sting apparatus bee for four months are described. showed ulcerative, erythematous plaques with irregular borders which resembled cutaneous neoplasms such as squamous cell carcinoma. Histopathologic included epidermal necrosis marked pseudoepitheliomatous hyperplasia. In dermis, stick‐shaped was demonstrated intense lymphohistiocytic eosinophilic infiltrations were noted.
