Catalyst-transfer polymerization has revolutionized the field of polymer synthesis due to its living character, but for a given catalyst system, scope is rather narrow. Herein we report highly efficient Suzuki–Miyaura catalyst-transfer (SCTP) that covers wide range monomers from electron-rich (donor, D) electron-deficient (acceptor, A) (hetero)arenes by rationally designing boronate and using commercially available Buchwald RuPhos SPhos Pd G3 precatalysts. Initially, optimized controlled...
Herein, we demonstrate that living Suzuki-Miyaura catalyst-transfer polymerization (SCTP) using a RuPhos Pd G3 precatalyst is versatile method for the precision synthesis of various donor-acceptor alternating conjugated polymers (DA ACPs). First, SCTP biaryl monomers with combinations both medium to strong A and D were optimized produce DA ACPs controlled number average molecular weight (Mn ), narrow dispersity (Ð, 1.05-1.29), high yield (>87 %). Moreover, its expansion =9.2-40.0 kg mol-1 )...
Donor-acceptor alternating conjugated polymers (D-A CPs) are one of the best materials for high-performance organic electronic devices, owing to their low bandgap and high charge carrier mobility. However, most D-A CPs synthesized by less sustainable polymerization methods. To address this issue, direct arylation (DArP), eliminating need transmetalating agents, was developed over past two decades. Nevertheless, C-H activation during DArP still requires significantly harsh reaction...
Despite the high potential of one-dimensional (1D) donor-acceptor (D-A) coaxial nanostructures in bulk-heterojunction solar cell applications, preparation such 1D using π-conjugated polymers has remained elusive. Herein, we demonstrate first example D-A semiconducting nanoribbons based on fully conjugated block copolymers (BCPs) prepared a highly efficient procedure with controllable width and length via living crystallization-driven self-assembly (CDSA). Initially, Suzuki-Miyaura...
