A number of charred surface residues, adhering to ceramic containers, were obtained from various coastal and inland sites in north‐west Europe dating the sixth fourth millennium cal bc . In order investigate use these vessels particular identify any marine products, residues subjected carbon nitrogen stable isotope analysis. Variation ratios between different samples indicated that some may have been used process products. This analysis was corroborated by specific identification aquatic...

Individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are at increased risk of developing anxiety or depression (A&D). Crohn's (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) comorbid A&D both more challenging to manage. IBD providers need better understand the causes impact in order improve care for patients. We sought identify clinical factors that influence development healthcare utilization IBD. This is a retrospective analysis using an natural history registry from single tertiary referral center....

Significance Climate change increases the frequency of drought events and leads to higher variability in precipitation. Drought impairs rhizosphere (root root-associated microbiome) functioning trees a reduced assimilate supply belowground. It remains unclear if thus whole-tree can quickly recover after release. We show that metabolic activity previously drought-exposed 100-y-old Scots pine increased response subtle soil moisture (induced by light rainfall). As consequence this change,...

Abstract Individual n‐alkalines isolated from the leaf‐surface waxes of plants utilizings differing photosynthetic pathways were analysed using gas chromatography/isotope mass spectrometry (GC/IRMS), in order to obtain ratios 13 C 12 (δ ). Marked differences average C‐depletion relative whole leaf tissues observed (C 3 = −7.7‰; 4 −9.9‰; CAM −11‰). Additionally, all three metabolic types exhibited considerable between n‐alkaline homologues same plant.

Abstract Background and Aims NASH is a common disease associated with increased rates of thromboembolism (TE). Although exercise training can lessen thrombotic risk in patients vascular disease, whether similar findings are observed open for study. Approach Results We conducted 20‐week randomized controlled clinical trial involving biopsy‐confirmed NASH. Patients were randomly assigned (2:1 ratio) to receive either an program or standard care. Abstract Resinous substances were highly prized in the ancient world for use ritual contexts. Details gleaned from classical literature indicate that they played a significant role Roman mortuary rites, treatment of body and as offerings at tomb. Outside Egypt, however, where research has shown range plant exudates applied part mummification process, resins have rarely been identified burial record. This is despite considerable speculation regarding their across Empire. Focusing on one...
