The recent particle-tracking velocimetric (PTV) observations revealed that well-entangled polymer solutions and melts tend to either exhibit wall slip or assume an inhomogeneous state of deformation flow during nonlinear rheological measurements in simple-shear rheometric setups. Many material parameters external conditions have been explored since 2006, a new phenomenological picture has emerged. In this Perspective, we not only point out the challenges perform reliable but also discuss...
We report a flow phenomenon in entangled polymer solutions that has never been described the literature. A large-amplitude oscillatory shear was imposed on sample at frequency higher than overall chain relaxation rate. The resulting orientation led to new environment which initially well-entangled chains managed disentangle inhomogeneously space. layer lacking entanglement developed take load of strain. As result this nonlinearity, rest avoided significant deformation and its remained intact.
Large step shear experiments revealed through particle tracking velocimetry that entangled polymeric liquids display either internal macroscopic movements upon cessation or rupturelike behavior during shear. Visible inhomogeneous motions were detected in five samples with the number of entanglements per chain ranging from 20 to 130 at amplitudes strain as low 135%.

This study elucidates the important role of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) concentration and storage temperature on extent property deterioration in SBS-MBs their corresponding mixes. with varying SBS content (3%, 4.5%, 7% by weight) were first stored closed metal containers at 150°C 180°C. It was observed that properties remained stable 150°C, but erosion evident when 180°C due to degradation. The conventional, rheological, morphological analysis demonstrated magnitude strongly depended...
We apply a recently developed particle-tracking velocimetric (PTV) method along with conventional rheometric measurements to elucidate the nature of one class nonlinear behavior entangled polymer solutions under shear. At fixed degree chain entanglement, i.e., same parent at 10 wt % concentration, we use different liquid media as solvent control upper bound interfacial wall slip. Contrary common perception that these would undergo quiescent relaxation after experiencing sudden shear strain,...
Recent shear experiments in well-entangled polymer solutions demonstrated that interfacial wall slip is the only source of rate loss and there no evidence banding micron scale gap.
The current study evaluates the impact of SBS molecular structure (L-SBS, B-SBS, HV-SBS, and DB-SB) concentration on asphalt mix performance. Polymers were characterized using GPC, FTIR, melt rheology, DSC analysis. GPC analysis indicates that BSBS has highest weight, while DB-SB lowest. FT-IR studies show differences in vinyl content among four polymers. Asphalt mixture resonated binder where B-SBS polymer outperformed their counterparts. Results showed compared to widely used L-SBS...

This study comprehensively compares the conventional, rheological, morphological, and asphalt mix performance among SBS several thermoplastics (TPs) modified binders. TPs binders (TP-MBs) may have modulus values similar to (SBS-MBs), but other critical properties were far inferior. Percent elastic recovery of ungrafted TP-MBs was < 10 percent, phase angle close 80°, softening point 15–20°C lesser than SBS-MBs. At intermediate low temperatures, exhibited higher complex increased PG...
The current study emphasizes the impact of styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) molecular structures on extent performance deterioration in asphalt mixes after short-term and long-term laboratory aging. First, modified binders were prepared using linear (L-SBS), branched (B-SBS), high vinyl (HV-SBS), di-block (DB-SB) SBS copolymers, consequent fabricated these binders. influence aging mixture has been evaluated through Cantabro mass loss, fracture properties, fatigue, rut resistance behavior....
Styrene-butadiene-styrene-modified binders (SBS-MBs) are susceptible to property erosion even in the absence of air at elevated storage temperatures. The current study focused on monitoring properties SBS-MBs prepared using four different types polymers: linear SBS (L-SBS), branched (B-SBS), high vinyl (HV-SBS), and diblock (DB-SB). modified were stored 180°C 150°C for 14 days. result shows significant deterioration L-SBS B-SBS polymer-modified during 180°C, while only marginal HV-SBS DB-SB...
