The aim of this study was to investigate whether the level decrease in cerebral oxygen saturation during valve placement phase transcatheter aortic implantation (TAVI) procedure under sedation has an effect on postoperative delirium (POD). initially assessed 50 patients between ages and 90 years with indication for TAVI by cardiac team. Regional (rScO2) measured using Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) before (T1), surgical field sterilization (T2), catheter (T3), wire manipulation (T4), (T5)...
Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the clinical outcomes cardiac surgery in patients who were incidentally diagnosed with Covid-19 postoperative period. Patients and methods: We performed 826 open surgeries five tertiary centers. Most elective coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) (93.8%). A preoperative RT-PCR test transcutaneous oxygen saturation routinely investigated prior surgery. also whether already received treatment or had any contact a patient last two weeks....
Background/Aim: Cardiovascular diseases are a leading cause of mortality worldwide, with surgical interventions playing crucial role in outcomes. Despite technological advancements and improved operator experience, perioperative postoperative risks remain significant, particularly for high-risk patients. Fibrinogen, an acute-phase reactant, increases during inflammation plays coagulation. This study investigates the prognostic impact fibrinogen levels on outcomes cardiac surgery evaluates...
We aimed at assessing the efficacy of patch plasty technique without endarterectomy in patients with diffuse coronary artery. Long anastomosis left internal mammary artery graft (LIMA) to anterior descending (LAD) was performed and examined using transthoracic Doppler echocardiography detect flow reserve (CFR) epicardial stenosis.Forty-one (6 women; mean age, 58 ± 9 years) who underwent bypass surgery were included study. Presence CFR each patient by echocardiography. One (2.4%) died on first...
Background: Our aim of this study was to evaluate the cardiac symptoms, coronary angiographic results, and clinical outcomes patients with confirmed COVID-19 ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or ischemia. Material methods: Thirty-seven patients, who already were using reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), admitted our hospital due chest pain STEMI. The median patient age 66 years (range: 27-84 years). Female/male ratio 22/15. We performed a second RT-PCR...
We report the case of a 32-year-old male patient with symptoms cerebrovascular accident manifesting dysarthria. A transesophageal echocardiogram showed floating mass localized in ascending aorta, and multislice computed tomography evaluation confirmed diagnosis. With comprehensive assessment mass, we decided on surgical intervention. pedunculated fragile was seen just near right coronary ostium. The measured dimensions were 7.7 x 1.0 1.5 cm. removed has been analyzed histopathologically...
Introduction: Single or dual antiplatelet therapy (SAPT DAPT) is indicated in all patients with carotid artery stenosis (CAS), irrespective of clinical symptoms and revascularisation. In endarterectomy (CEA), SAPT DAPT preoperatively may increase the risk bleeding during surgery postoperative period. There no consensus regarding discontinuation preoperative treatment, especially using clopidogrel. Our goal was to find solution this problem. Patients Methods: A total 54 undergoing CEA were...
A 36-year-old man presented for treatment of headache, paresthesis, and weakness his right arm leg. Examination revealed an atherosclerotic plaque in the left common carotid artery, lying to internal artery resulting 99% stenosis. The was removed successfully by endarterectomy. Pathological examination tissue confirmed diagnosis plaque. Detailed investigation risk factors led conclusion that stenosis due blunt trauma caused injury had occurred 30 years previously when patient gored a ram's horn.
Introduction: Sarcoidosis is a systemic disease of unknown cause that characterised by the formation immune granulomas in various organs, mostly lungs and lymphatic system. Cardiac involvement sarcoidosis patients increases mortality morbidity. Aims objectives: The aim study was to determine frequency cardiac with or without symptoms sarcoidosis. Methods: Fifty-five included who admitted Mersin University Chest Diseases Department between 01.01.2010- 01.10.2021. All them...
