Treatment decisions in patients with scimitar syndrome (SS) are often challenging, especially isolated SS who asymptomatic and might be diagnosed accidentally. We queried a large multi-institutional registry of to evaluate the natural history this condition determine efficacy surgical treatment terms survival clinical status. collected data on 485 from 51 institutions; 279 (57%) were treated surgically (STPs) 206 (43%) clinically monitored (CMPs). Median age at last follow-up was 11.6 years...
Takotsubo cardiomypathy is a very rare cardiovascular syndrome leading to myocardial infarction and left ventricular dysfunction in the absence of detectable coronary artery lesion. It accepted as reversible asynergy occuring typically after an intrinsic adrenergic hyperstimulation. In this report we present cardiomyopathy 75-year-old patient with multiple autoimmune disorders.
Ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) is associated with high mortality and poor outcomes. The surgical management of moderate IMR still an object debate. Patients who underwent isolated off-pump coronary bypass grafting (OPCAB) facile stabilization between January 2015 February 2022 were analyzed. primary endpoint was the remaining echocardiographic findings while secondary outcomes defined as mortality, major adverse events, postoperative functional status. Of 541 patients OPCAB in this...
Iatrogenic aortic regurgitation secondary to leaflet injury is a rare complication of mitral valve surgery. For the first time, we report patient who had progressive due non-coronary perforation after robotic repair and required 18 months this initial As in our case, surgery may remain undiagnosed on intraoperative transesophageal echocardiography or undetected until patient's discharge gradual enlargement very small perforations over postoperative course.
We report the case of a 32-year-old male patient with symptoms cerebrovascular accident manifesting dysarthria. A transesophageal echocardiogram showed floating mass localized in ascending aorta, and multislice computed tomography evaluation confirmed diagnosis. With comprehensive assessment mass, we decided on surgical intervention. pedunculated fragile was seen just near right coronary ostium. The measured dimensions were 7.7 x 1.0 1.5 cm. removed has been analyzed histopathologically...
Objective: We aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mitral valve repair procedure using biodegradable ring implantation treat severe regurgitation. Method: Between May 2007 and 2009, 23 patients without stenosis underwent a annuloplasty ring. 3 are excluded from study due discontinuation follow-up. Preoperative, postoperative 7th day, 3rd month, 6th 1st-year echocardiographic data 20 were collected retrospectively statistically analyzed with Chi-square Student T-tests. Results: At...
A 36-year-old man presented for treatment of headache, paresthesis, and weakness his right arm leg. Examination revealed an atherosclerotic plaque in the left common carotid artery, lying to internal artery resulting 99% stenosis. The was removed successfully by endarterectomy. Pathological examination tissue confirmed diagnosis plaque. Detailed investigation risk factors led conclusion that stenosis due blunt trauma caused injury had occurred 30 years previously when patient gored a ram's horn.
