To report the experience of 23 tertiary referral European Centres on transcatheter closure congenital ventricular septal defects (VSD). Implantation devices was attempted in 430 patients (pts) with VSDs until July 2005. The following anatomic types were present: 119 muscular, 250 perimembranous, 16 multiple, 45 residual post-surgery. Median VSD size 7 mm (range 3–22), fluoroscopy time 33 min 3–146). Devices implanted Amplatzer muscular or membranous 364, PDA 12, ASD seven, Starflex and coils...

Since the late 1980s, endovascular stents have been used in treatment of several vascular lesions. In last decades, stent implantation has proposed as a reliable option for coarctation aorta. this setting, it seems to some advantages, rendering superior angioplasty alone.Between December 1997 and 2004, 71 consecutive patients (44 males 27 females) underwent cardiac catheterization native or recurrent Seventy-four were implanted. All discharged enrolled follow-up programme. Every patient...

Percutaneous implantation of pulmonary valve has been recently introduced in the clinical practice. Our aim was to analyze data patients treated Italy by using Melody Medtronic valve.Prospective, observational, multi-centric survey means a web-based database registry Italian Society Pediatric Cardiology (SICP).Between October 2007 and 2010, 63 were included (median age: 24 years; range 11-65 years). Forty subjects NYHA class I-II while 23 III-IV. Patients had history median three previous...

Covered stent correction of sinus venosus ASDs (SVASD) is a relatively new technique. Challenges include anchoring sufficiently long in nonstenotic superior vena cava (SVC) and expanding the at wider SVC-RA junction without obstructing anomalous right upper pulmonary vein (RUPV). The 10-zig covered Cheatham-platinum (CCP) has advantage being available lengths 5-11 cm dilatable to 34 mm diameter. An international registry reviewed outcomes CCP stents 75 patients aged 11.4-75.9 years (median...

Abstract Fontan-Associated Liver Disease (FALD) is a dramatically emerging problem even if not precisely defined in term of debated diagnosis and surveillance protocols. We analyze FALD prevalence, clinical impact implications European cohort patients. It’s retrospective observational multicenter study including Fontan patients operated between 1990 2022. Anatomical, clinical, surgical liver-related data were collected, defining as spectrum time-related structural–functional liver...

To analyze cardiac involvement and its progression in mucopolysaccharidoses, to assess the short term impact of new therapeutic strategies. We studied echocardiographically 57 patients with various types specifically I, II, III, IV VI, a median age at diagnosis 5 years, following them for 4.6 range from 0.9 21.2 years. We used scoring system, along so-called delta score, quantify severity baseline last examination, chart their over time.Cases increased 59.6% 87.3% examination. The scores age,...

QRS-ST changes in the inferior and lateral ECG leads are frequently observed athletes. Recent studies have suggested a potential arrhythmogenic significance of these findings general population. The aim our study was to investigate whether markers cardiac arrest (CA) unexplained cause or sudden death athletes. In 21 athletes (mean age, 27 years; 5 women) with death, recorded before immediately after clinical event compared 365 healthy eligible for competitive sport activity. Abstract Background and Aims Transcatheter pulmonary valve implantation (TPVI) is indicated to treat right-ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) dysfunction related congenital heart disease (CHD). Outcomes of TPVI with the SAPIEN 3 that are insufficiently documented were investigated in EUROPULMS3 registry 3-TPVI. Methods Patient-related, procedural, follow-up outcome data retrospectively assessed this observational cohort from 35 centres 15 countries. Results Data for 840 consecutive patients...
