The density of the amorphous phase metals is generally thought to be related glass formation, but this correlation has not been demonstrated experimentally date. In work, systematic deflection measurements using microcantilevers and a combinatorial deposition method show between glass-forming ability change upon crystallization over broad compositional range in copper-zirconium binary system. Distinct peaks were found correlate with specific maxima critical thickness for formation. Our...
The authors provide an analysis of the performance optical orthogonal codes in code division multiple access (CDMA) network by considering probability distribution interference patterns. It is shown that actual close to a previous estimate. A less structured temporal which words are allowed overlap at two pulse positions also considered. bit error for this class obtained cases: with and without hard-limiting receivers. may increase number users considerably significant loss performance.<...
To investigate the flaw sensitivity and reliability of bulk metallic glasses (BMGs), compressive testing was performed on a statistically significant number specimens. Despite fact that BMGs exhibit little or no macroscopic plasticity before failure (similar to other brittle materials), we observe surprisingly high uniformity in strength. Weibull analysis employed study statistical dispersion strength, giving very moduli about 25 for an intrinsically glass, near 75 malleable one. This is...
The deformation of metallic glasses involves two competing processes: a disordering process involving dilatation, free volume accumulation, and softening, relaxation diffusional ordering densification. For at room temperature under uniaxial loading, usually dominates, the glass can fail catastrophically as softening runs away in localized mode. Here we demonstrate conditions where opposite, unexpected, situation occurs: densifying resulting stable plastic work hardening temperature. We...
We report frequency-dependent measurements of the dynamic elastic modulus a ${\mathrm{Pd}}_{40}{\mathrm{Cu}}_{30}{\mathrm{Ni}}_{10}{\mathrm{P}}_{20}$ bulk amorphous phase near its glass transition temperature. The storage and loss moduli exhibit structural relaxation similar to those observed by other characterization techniques. Parameters obtained fitting Vogel-Fulcher-Tamman equation Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts model behaviors methods.
In this paper, the extended Reed-Solomon codes are modified to construct a new family of 2-D for asynchronous optical code-division multiple access (O-CDMA). addition having expanded and asymptotically optimal cardinality, these can be partitioned into tree structures code subsets, in which cardinality is function (periodic) cross-correlation value assigned subset. The performance analyzed compared with that multilevel prime codes. Our results show unique partition property supports...
Human mobility patterns created from mobile phone call detail records (CDRs) can provide an essential resource in data-poor environments to monitor the effects of health outbreaks. Analysis this data be instrumental for understanding movement pattern populations allowing governments set and refine policies respond community risks. Building on CDR analysis techniques, research out test whether combining indicators with socio-economic information illustrate differences between different...
Summary Geologic model building of the subsurface is a complicated and lengthy process. Seismic data are usually inverted at beginning this process discarded after inversion interpretation. Modifications from seismic results almost never validated due to one-way information flow towards reservoir properties. In paper, we propose include production properties back in during next iteration geologic updates. The elastic fluid-flow connected cross-updated based on underlying rock physics models....
The homogeneous deformation of Zr-based bulk metallic glass composites is studied near the transition temperature, at various levels reinforcement volume fraction. Through examination constitutive response, it seen that presence in situ reinforcements increases flow resistance dramatically. This strengthening effect shown to arise from two separate contributions: load transfer amorphous matrix reinforcements, and changes composition structure upon precipitation reinforcements.
The flow theory in an extruder is fundamental to the study of extrusion technology. Present analytical solutions used many studies give significant overpredictions volumetric rate due erroneous boundary conditions used. Modified flat plate models with and without considering side wall effect a coaxial cylinder model for Newtonian fluids were derived this using new confirmed by Choo et al. (1980). Using experimental data from published literature, it was found that rates better predicted...
Green ammonia and hydrogen from renewable energy sources have emerged as crucial players during the transition of chemical industry a fossil energy‐dominated economy to one that is environmentally friendly. This work proposes green synthesis system driven by synergistic generation using alkaline water electrolyzers (AWE) proton exchange membrane (PEMEC). The effects hydrogen‐production ratios PEMEC AWE on thermodynamic economic performance are compared analyzed via multi‐objective...
A bulk metallic glass matrix composite, that is a crystalline phase in an amorphous matrix, has been successfully synthesized by chill casting La-based quaternary La66Al14Cu10Ni10 alloy. composite rod as large 12 mm diameter was obtained. The reinforcing identified α-La, which uniformly distributed and well developed throughout the sample. critical cooling rate for formation of determined Bridgman solidification process to be below 15 K s−1. Increased thermal stability observed compared with...
