The abundant lignocellulosic biomass has great potential as a renewable energy source. Due to its resistant nature, requires pretreatment increase accessibility cellulase. Currently, the main types of pretreatments include physical, chemical, and biological pretreatment, which is favored for advantages mild conditions, nonpolluting, low consumption. Still, disadvantages such time-consuming efficiency limit large-scale application. This review focuses on various methods, highlighting advances...

Abstract We demonstrate that l ‐methionine, a natural amino acid, can be used to dramatically enhance CO 2 uptake kinetics in the formation of hydrate without use energy‐intensive mixing technologies or environmentally harmful chemicals. To best our knowledge, ‐methionine is most effective promoter (at concentration 0.2 wt %, gravimetric capacity reached up 356 mg g −1 1000 min, and t 90 (the time achieve % this capacity) was only 15 min). also present tentative explanation for promotion...

Abstract Microorganisms are widely used as the biotemplates for producing micro/nanomaterials owing to their unique features, such exquisite morphology, renewable, and environmentally friendly. However, mass intracellular synthesis of uniformly dispersed nanoparticles (NPs) inside microorganisms is still challenging, especially in a predictable controllable manner. Here, facile efficiency strategy proposed controllably produce highly surfactant‐free Pd@Ag core–shell NPs within Spirulina...

The emission of CO₂ has been considered a major cause greenhouse effects and global warming. current capture approaches have their own advantages weaknesses. We found that free-flowing hydrated sodium carbonate (Na₂CO₃) powders with 30 wt % water can achieve very high sorption capacity 282 mg/g within 60 min fast uptake (90% saturation 16 min). results suggest the alkaline solution resulting from dissolution partial Na₂CO₃ freely attach onto particles, which provides an excellent gas-liquid...

Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium can inject effector proteins into host cells via type III secretion systems (T3SSs). These modulate a variety of transcriptional responses to facilitate bacterial growth and survival. Here we show that infection with S specifically induces the ubiquitination tumor necrosis factor receptor-associated 6 (TRAF6). This TRAF6 is triggered by pathogenicity island 1 (SPI-1) T3SS effectors SopB SopE2. We also demonstrate involved in SopB/SopE2-induced...

Background Microsatellite instability (MSI), or mismatch repair-deficiency (dMMR), is rare in prostate cancers (PCas). The histological and molecular features of PCas with MSI/dMMR are incompletely described. Thus, we sought to identify the characteristics MSI/dMMR. Methods results We analyzed 1,141 primary treatment-naive by MMR-related protein immunohistochemistry (MLH1, PMS2, MSH2, MSH6). identified eight cases exhibiting (0.7%, 8/1141). Of these, six tumors had both MSH2 MSH6 loss, one...

Dry hydrated potassium carbonate (DHPC) is a free-flowing powder prepared by uniformly mixing K2CO3 and hydrophobic nanosilica. We demonstrated that DHPCs can absorb CO2 rapidly because of their high surface-to-volume ratio. Their capture performance superior to 30 wt% monoethanolamine (MEA), an industry standard. DHPC-75 (containing 75 K2CO3) has uptake capacity 233 mg g-1 (90% saturation within 13 min), higher than the widely used MEA aqueous solution (111 g-1, 90% 25 min). also exhibits...

Sucrose phosphorylase (SPase) is a member of the glycoside hydrolase family 13, catalyzing reversible phosphorolysis sucrose to produce α–glucose–1–phosphate and exhibiting transglycosylation activity toward multiple substrates. Its wide substrate specificity enables synthesis various glycosides, which are broadly applied in food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals. However, industrial application SPase constrained by its poor thermostability limited activity. Therefore, current research focuses on...

Two key issues regarding the use of clathrates and semiclathrates for practical gas storage transport is pressure-temperature stability material very low formation kinetics. For many applications, avoidance cooling, overpressure, mechanical mixing would be desirable. Here, we show that biosilica supports from rice husks greatly enhance gases uptake kinetics in tetra-iso-amyl ammonium bromide without introducing complex technologies. These systems excellent thermal good recyclability.
