Plastic biliary stents are commonly placed during endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography for various indications, and stent-related complications uncommon. We describe a case in which plastic stent migrated proximally through the liver capsule diaphragm after cholangiopancreatography, leading to pericardial effusion cardiac tamponade.
