A new species of Gastrodia (Orchidaceae: Epidendroideae, Gastrodieae), G. qingyunshanensis, is described and illustrated from Guangdong, China. It closely related to appendiculata C. S. Leou & N. J. Chung but can be distinguished by an urceolate (vs bell-like) dark brown pale greenish brown) perianth tube, the smaller petals (2.5 × 1.6 mm vs 4–5 5–6 mm), shape lip (oblong, 3×1.6mm ovate, 6–7×5mm), lack elevated calli at base petal having calli), appendage shorter than column equal...

A new species of Vanda, V. malipoensis, from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated in this study based on morphological molecular evidence. Detailed comparisons between the newly discovered orchid other members Vanda s.l. indicate that malipoensis similar to christensoniana nana. The plant differs former by presence inflorescences with sparse smaller flowers, a shorter column caudiculate pollinia, it latter longer fully open flowers erect sidelobes lip. The subtribe Aeridinae, which contains approximately 90 genera, is one of the most diverse and taxonomically puzzling groups in Orchidaceae. In present study, phylogenetic relationships Aeridinae were reconstructed utilizing five DNA sequences (ITS, atpI-H, matK, psbA-trnH, trnL-F) from 211 taxa 74 genera. results analyses indicate that monophyletic can primarily be grouped into 10 clades: (1) Saccolabium clade, (2) Chiloschista (3) Phalaenopsis (4) Thrixspermum (5) Vanda (6) Aerides (7)...

Pseudocerastium is a monotypic genus in Caryophyllaceae endemic to China. The has been widely accepted since it was described 1998, however its phylogenetic position within never studied. In the present study, whole plastid genome and nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences of stellarioides obtained through skimming, species studied for first time. Plastid phylogenomic analysis revealed that clustered tribe Alsineae with strong support. Phylogenetic analyses based on an...

Alsineae are one of the most taxonomically difficult tribes in Caryophyllaceae and consist over 500 species distributed northern temperate zone. Recent phylogenetic results have improved our understanding on evolutionary relationships among members. Nevertheless, there still some unresolved taxonomic problems at generic level, history major clades within tribe was unexplored to date. In this study, we carried out analyses divergence time estimation using nuclear ribosomal internal...
