Tailoring the structure of nanocrystal superlattices is an important step toward controlled design novel nanostructured materials and devices. We demonstrate how long-range order macroscopic dimensions magnetic nanoparticle arrays can be by use a modulated field. Inducing dipolar attraction during initial stage drying-mediated self-assembly process was sufficient to assemble superparamagnetic oleate-capped maghemite nanocubes into large defect-free superstructures with both translational...

Here we demonstrate how monodisperse iron oxide nanocubes and nanospheres with average sizes between 5 27 nm can be synthesized by thermal decomposition. The relative importance of the purity reactants, ratio oleic acid sodium oleate, maximum temperature, rate temperature increase, on robust reproducible size shape-selective nanoparticle synthesis are identified discussed. conditions that generate highly suitable for producing large ordered arrays, or mesocrystals described in detail.

Aluminum salts, developed almost a century ago, remain the most commonly used adjuvant for licensed human vaccines. Compared to more recently vaccine adjuvants, aluminum adjuvants such as Alhydrogel are heterogeneous in nature, consisting of 1-10 micrometer-sized aggregates nanoparticle oxyhydroxide fibers. To determine whether particle size and aggregated state affects its activity, we scalable, top-down process produce stable nanoparticles (nanoalum) from clinical by including poly(acrylic...

Developing high specific energy Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries is of vital importance to boost the production efficient electric vehicles able meet customers’ expectation related range vehicle. One possible pathway increase operating voltage Li-ion cell. Cathode materials enabling operation above 4.2 V are available. The stability positive electrode-electrolyte interface still main bottleneck develop cells. Moreover, important research efforts devoted substitution graphite anodes with Li...

The nickel-rich NMC955 (LiNi0.90Mn0.05Co0.05O2) cathode, with minimal cobalt, is the zenith of NMC technology but faces structural and thermal stability challenges, losing an average 15 % its capacity in first discharge. Here, by selecting appropriate materials synthesis methods all-solid-state battery cell, this challenge effectively mitigated. A sustainable fabrication LiNMC955 positive electrode, excluding PVDF using styrene-butadiene rubber SBR, demonstrates high retention cells, without...

Nanocellulose (NC)-based hybrid coatings and films containing CeO2 SiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) to impart UV screening hardness properties, respectively, were prepared by solvent casting. The NC film-forming component (75 wt % of the overall solids) was composed entirely cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) or CNCs combined with nanofibrils (CNFs). Zeta potential measurements indicated that four NP types (CNC, CNF, CeO2, SiO2) stably dispersed in water negatively charged at pH values between 6 9....

Corrosion protection is commonly achieved by applying a thin polymer coating on the metal surface. Many studies have been devoted to local events occurring at surface leading or general corrosion. In contrast, changes in organic after exposure corrosive conditions are much less studied. this article we outline how itself due curing conditions, environmental and erosion effects can be investigated nanometer scale, discuss such would affect its corrosion performance. Colloidal dispersions of cerium oxide nanoparticles are importance for numerous applications including as catalysts, chemical mechanical polishing agents and additives UV protective anticorrosion coatings. Here, concentrated oleate-coated (CeO2 NPs) with a uniform size have been produced by solventless thermolysis cerium-oleate powder under low pressure at 320 °C subsequently dispersed in hexane. Unlike any previously reported colloidal synthesis process ceria nanoparticles, this does not...
