Abstract Textured Nd 2 NiO 4+ δ bulk ceramic membranes are fabricated via slip casting in a 0.9 T magnetic field generated by neodymium magnets. This process aligns the oxide grains with their easy‐magnetization c ‐axis parallel to applied field. Depending on field's direction relative casting, orient either , b ‐plane or normal of disk‐shaped ceramic, thus aligning oxygen permeation direction. Without field, non‐textured membrane is formed. The microstructure and texture meticulously...
The aim of this work is to study the influence selected deep rolling parameters (rolling pressure and number passes) on surface integrity fully annealed AISI 1060 high carbon steel. In addition mechanical properties, a comprehensive investigation carried out. findings indicate that despite increase in hardness ultimate tensile stress, can negatively affect yield strength. amplitude functional roughness show considerable reduction after rolling, however, increasing passes leads poorer finish....
The use of cemented tungsten carbide inserts in hard machining requires proper coatings and edge micro-geometries. A suitable choice these factors enables the reduction cutting forces, increase tool life improvement workpiece surface quality. However, effects preparation method coating process on substrate properties influence performance insert during cutting. In this context, two different methods (plunge-face grinding brushing) TiAlN-coated turning is investigated. general, higher values...
Abstract Calcium cobaltite Ca 3 Co 4− x O 9+ δ (CCO) is a promising p ‐type thermoelectric (TE) material for high‐temperature applications in air. The grains of the exhibit strong anisotropic properties, making texturing and nanostructuring mostly favored to improve performance. On one hand multitude interfaces are needed within bulk create reflecting surfaces that can lower thermal conductivity. other hand, low residual porosity contact between raise electrical In this study, CCO fibers...
Abstract A defined surface roughness is important for the adhesive bonding of veneering ceramic to zirconia frameworks. Thus, we investigated effects that sandblasting has upon and residual stress zirconia. So as achieve well-defined blasting parameters also generate highly reproducible results; a custom-made, automated machine was constructed (based on 3D-printer construction kit). Thirty-two samples (measuring 30 mm × 35 0.2 mm) were cut from densely sintered 3Y-TZP blanks then ground with...
Abstract The tool steel AISI H13 is characterized by a high wear resistance and good thermal shock resistance. mainly employed in applications such as tools for pressure die casting forging. Processing of additive manufacturing techniques, selective laser melting (SLM), opens up new design possibilities with respect to e. g. internal cooling channels, order improve the performance during operation. However, due surface roughness insufficient geometric accuracy imposed SLM, additional cutting...
Since the late 90s use of zirconia based all-ceramic restorations increases. Many manufacturing steps are necessary, like pre-sintering, soft machining (pre-sintered condition), sintering and hard (fully sintered) in combination with a final staining or veneering step. All these techniques, especially machining, associated production flaws different scales, conjunction thermal residual stresses phase transformations. These inter alia capable to induce failure. This work investigates impact...
Calculation of the geometric part G profile shape is recently developed fundamental parameters model. A Monte Carlo raytracing algorithm used to describe realistic conditions such as multiple slits/collimators, dimension secondary monochromator and complicated specimen shape. To model X-ray source more exactly, we successfully introduced a correction for tube tails. relevant (6%…30%) X-rays produced not from proper rectangular line focus but supplementary tails on both sides optical focus....
This work addresses the influence of distinct microstructures and deep rolling parameters on behaviour AISI 1060 steel. For this purpose, material was initially subjected to subcritical full annealing as well hardening through quenching tempering. The specimens were subsequently rolled under different pressures numbers passes. findings indicate that plastic deformation increases with pressure number passes due more intense cold working identical conditions fully annealed presents severe than...
Abstract Textured La 2 NiO 4+ δ membranes were fabricated by pressureless sintering in air using uniaxially pressed powder mixtures consisting of fine-grained equiaxial matrix particles and plate-like template varying mass ratios. The particles, obtained molten-flux synthesis, aligned perpendicular to the pressing direction. Subsequent resulted ceramic with enhanced texturing along crystallographic c -axis . X-ray diffraction patterns revealed a direct relationship: higher fraction ceramics,...
Cohesive damage of PVD-coated carbide cutting tools always means an unscheduled production downtime and in many cases a partial the workpiece. The cause for this kind tool breakdown is ascribed by model to disadvantageous residual stress state substrate coating. presented work observes tool's states after single process steps during application sin2ψ method scattering vector determination depth distributions order verify model. obtained results prove assumptions
Deep rolling is often used as a finishing step after cutting because of its beneficial influence on surface and subsurface properties, which lead to an increase in performance lifecycle behavior. This manufacturing process suitable reduce roughness induce compressive residual stresses. As thermal effects only play minor role the deep process, it possible link resulting stresses analytically determined internal loads. The boundaries these relationships are investigated hardened AISI 4140...
