What is the relationship between avatars and people they represent in terms of appearance behavior? In this paper, we hypothesize that (balancing motives self-verification self-enhancement) customize image their to bear similarity real selves, but with moderate enhancements. We also virtual-world behavior (due deindividuation computer-mediated communication environments) less restrained by normal inhibitions than real-world behavior. Lastly, more attractive selves will be somewhat confident...

An unexpected N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed esterification of α,β-unsaturated aldehydes including aromatic with reactive cinnamyl bromides in the presence air oxygen or MnO2 as an oxidant is described. In oxygen, halogenated and electron-deficient react smoothly to furnish esters good yields. Great efforts have been made on mechanistic studies deduce a plausible mechanism, based experimental results isotopic labeling experiment.

Mussel-inspired catechol-based strategy has been widely used in the development of underwater adhesives. Nonetheless, properties adhesives were still severely limited under harsh environments. A facile approach was proposed herein to prepare a double network hydrogel adhesive with low swelling rate and high strength seawater, where first polyacrylamide (PAM) second alginate (Alg). Meanwhile, polydopamine (PDA) nanoparticles, which formed through self-polymerization as adhesion anchoring...

Whereas all 230 three-dimensional space groups occur in organic crystals, out of only 17 plane some highly symmetric ones such as p31m have not yet been observed two-dimensional (2D) crystals molecules. Here a kagome network with symmetry is reported for cobalt phthalocyanine on Cu(111). This unusual structure results from substrate-induced reduction molecular and substrate-mediated interaction via quantum interference surface electrons. These interactions provide additional control over the...

Deconvolution is a commonly employed technique for enhancing image quality in optical imaging methods. Unfortunately, its application coherence tomography (OCT) often hindered by sensitivity to noise, which leads additive ringing artifacts. These artifacts considerably degrade the of deconvolved images, thereby limiting effectiveness OCT imaging.
