Design and process optimization are key aspects of manufacturing engineering. This contribution details a machine learning (ML) methodology capable from simulation results, experimental data, or sensor signals, able to predict optimize specific user-defined design parameters. The prediction-optimization algorithm is based on an enhanced Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGB) algorithm, highly responsive accurate even for large datasets complex variable interactions. Once the XGB function trained,...
New Findings What is the central question of this study? Can sex‐related differences in cutaneous vascular and sudomotor responses be explained primarily by variations ratio between body surface area mass during compensable exercise that elicits equivalent heat‐loss requirements mean temperature changes across participants? main finding its importance? Mass‐specific was a significant determinant vasomotor men women, explaining 10–48% individual thermoeffector variance. Nonetheless, after...
We introduce HyperCLOVA X, a family of large language models (LLMs) tailored to the Korean and culture, along with competitive capabilities in English, math, coding. X was trained on balanced mix Korean, code data, followed by instruction-tuning high-quality human-annotated datasets while abiding strict safety guidelines reflecting our commitment responsible AI. The model is evaluated across various benchmarks, including comprehensive reasoning, knowledge, commonsense, factuality, coding,...
The purpose of this study was to investigate smart features required for the next generation personal protective equipment (PPE) firefighters in Australia, Korea, Japan, and USA. Questionnaire responses were obtained from 167 Australian, 351 Japanese, 413 Korean, 763 U.S. (1,611 males 61 females). Preferences concerning varied among countries, with 27% Korean 30% identifying 'a location monitoring system' as most important element. On other hand, 43% Japanese preferred 'an automatic body...
Human heat loss is thought, in part, to be morphologically related. It was therefore hypothesized that when heat-loss requirements and body temperatures were matched, the mass-specific surface area alone could significantly explain both cutaneous vascular sudomotor responses during compensable exercise. These thermoeffector examined 36 men with widely varying areas (range, 232.3-292.7 cm2/kg), but of similar age, aerobic fitness, adiposity. Subjects completed two trials under conditions...
Myelosuppression is a life-threatening complication of thiopurine therapy, and the incidence thiopurine-induced myelosuppression higher in East Asians than Europeans. We investigated genetic factors associated with leukopenia patients IBD.A genome-wide association study (GWAS) was conducted thiopurine-treated IBD, followed by high-throughput sequencing genes identified as significant GWAS or those involved metabolism (n=331). Significant loci were validated two additional replication cohorts...
The purpose of this study was to investigate the components contributions personal protective equipment on physiological strain in firefighters during exercise and recovery. Eight participated trials which various combinations weighing from 1.3 15.1 kg were worn. results showed that rectal temperature, changes mean skin heart rate, oxygen consumption blood lactate concentration smaller conditions without boots (no-boots) than other with no helmet, gloves or self-contained breathing apparatus...
This paper presents vibration control of a mixed-mode magnetorheological fluid-based mount system using new robust fuzzy sliding mode controller. A novel model controller is built based on adaptive hybrid interval type 2 incorporating with modified control. The optimized for computational cost by enhanced iterative algorithm stop condition, and switching surface designed preventing the chattering system. then experimentally implemented under uncertain conditions in order to evaluate...
Insensible body mass loss (IBL) from the human continuously occurs, which is an important component in heat exchange. The purpose of this study was to examine relevance IBL anthropometric characteristics and self-identified thermal tolerance. A total 289 healthy young Korean males were chosen sorted into following three groups: tolerable only (HTO, N = 79), cold (CTO, 104), neither nor (NHC, 106). They weighed before after a 30-min rest under lightly clothed condition at air temperature 23 ±...
This study was conducted to investigate the thermoregulatory behavior of young males in terms self-identified thermal tolerance. We recruited 436 male students from Seoul (<TEX>$24.0{\pm}4.6yr$</TEX> age, <TEX>$175.3{\pm}5.5cm$</TEX> height, <TEX>$70.1{\pm}10.6kg$</TEX> body mass, and <TEX>$23.0{\pm}2.7$</TEX> BMI) accordance with four types tolerance: 1) tolerable both cold heat, BCH (N=15); 2) heat only, HTO (N=118); 3) CTO (N=162); 4) neither nor tolerable, NCH (N=141). The questionnaire...
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects head hair on thermoregulatory responses when cooling under heat stress. Eight young males participated in six experimental conditions: normal (100–130 mm length) and cropped (5 with three water inlet temperatures 10, 15, 20°C. neck subjects were cooled by a liquid perfused hood while immersing legs at 42°C for 60 min sitting position air temperature 28°C 30% RH. results showed that removal from condition not significantly different...
In this study, anti-cancer activities of peel Citrus junos (CJP) and Poncirus trifoliata on breast cancer cells, anti-proliferative effects cells induced by environmental hormones were investigated....

J Strength Cond Res 32(3): 700–707, 2018—Pacing is critical for athletic endeavors, the used by athletes are often modified after practice. The importance when completing occupational assessments has been established; however, effect carriage discrete subtask activities to modulate physical exertion complete a work task...
This study was conducted to investigate effects of air flow on physiological responses during winter cycling. Ten male volunteers were recruited and all tests in a climatic chamber (12 ± 0.5℃, 50 5%RH) under two different conditions: the high airflow (HAF, 2 m/s) low (LAF, < 0.2 m/s). Skin temperatures clothing microclimates higher LAF than HAF (p .05) participants felt hotter, wetter more uncomfortable compared .05). Physiological subjective sensations according regional body part These...
