Lesion size is a major determinant of treatment strategy for osteochondral lesions the talus (OLTs). Although magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) commonly used in preoperative evaluation OLTs, reliability MRI measurement compared with arthroscopic unknown. To compare lesion measured on versus intraoperative during arthroscopy.Cohort study (diagnosis); Level evidence, 2.We retrospectively reviewed consecutive series patients treated bone marrow stimulation OLTs. The diameter was at its widest...

Autologous osteochondral transplantation (AOT) has an inherent risk of donor site morbidity (DSM). The reported rates DSM vary from 0% to 50%, with few studies reporting clinical or imaging outcomes at the as a primary outcome and even fewer report these when biosynthetic plug backfill is employed. Although TruFit (Smith & Nephew, Andover, MA) plugs have been removed market for regulatory purposes, biphasic (including plugs) used several years evaluation therefore pertinent.Thirty-nine...

Talar osteochondral lesions represent challenging clinical entities, particularly in high-demand athletes. Surgical treatment of large often requires a 2-step procedure, or the use osteotomy case autologous transfer, which can delay return to sport.A professional rugby league player underwent surgery for complex injury ankle. A talar lesion with maximal diameter 15 mm was treated an arthroscopic fashion using cartilage taken from completely displaced fragment. Cartilage cut into chips and...

Giant cell myocarditis (GCM) and cardiac sarcoidosis share clinical histologic features, but whether they represent separate processes or lie on an inflammatory cardiomyopathy spectrum is unclear. We present a case of cardiogenic shock thought to be secondary biopsy-proven GCM with subsequent post-transplant diagnosis through 18-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography biopsy.

Background Jones fractures remain a challenging treatment entity in orthopaedics. Biomechanical stresses, including increased fifth metatarsal (5MT) lateral angle deviation (MLAD), are associated with fracture and refracture rates. Current fixation techniques produce good outcomes; however, they do not address morphology, which can predispose to refracture. This study describes novel surgical technique case series utilizing intramedullary screw distal corrective osteotomy for the management...
