The second harmonic generation efficiency was studied for the single crystalline potassium dihydrogen phosphate matrix with incorporated TiO2 nanocrystals in field of mode-locked Nd:YAG laser pulses. For first time frequency conversion gain observed KDP:TiO2 crystal (SC) instead KDP SC due to internal self-focusing effect pump beam caused by giant cubic nonlinear optical response embedded nanoparticles.
Abstract For the first time photo‐electromotive force (photo‐EMF) measurements were carried out for CdTe crystals doped with V atoms as a result of photogeneration carriers from deep impurity centers to conduction band. Tilted geometry was applied that allowed two‐dimensional monitoring vi‐ bration source. The CdTe:V excited by He–Ne laser wavelength 1.15 μm ( ħω = 1.08 eV) and P 2 mW. mechanism appearance holographic current in taking into account real defect structure proposed. frequency...

For the first time, diagnostics of oxyorthosilicates single crystals based on self-action picosecond range laser pulses at 1,064 nm (1.17 eV) has been performed. High sensitivity photoinduced refractive index variation to substitution Lu atoms by Gd in LSO/LGSO crystalline host as well admixture Ce was found. The effect can be explained with different electron detrapping-recombination process efficiencies due resonant excitation from deep traps gap attributed intrinsic oxygen vacancies.
ABSTRACT We have examined the efficiency of various techniques for determination nonlinear optical response (NLO) dye-doped liquid crystals. The intensity ranges where each technique is optimal are defined. propose an approach precise and detailed NLO measurements as a function dye concentration when parameters samples vary in wide range change significantly after light-induced Freedericksz transition.
ABSTRACT High third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility (χ(3)(ω; ω, −ω, ω) = −4,2 × 10−16(m2/V2)). In the visible spectral range may be achieved in PVA composites containing narrow bad gap PbS semiconductor nanocrystals with a strong limitation of area charge carrier delocalization.
The extinction spectra and the parameters of cubic optical nonlinearity in thin Fe2O3 Cr2O3 films deposited on glass substrates with use laser sputtering method have been measured. is studied, by using femtosecond radiation wavelength л = 800 nm pulse duration т 180 fs. energy gap width evaluated from found to equal Eg ≈ 2.4 eV 2.2 for synthesized at temperatures 293 K K, respectively, 3 substrate heated up K. For the first time, impact of TiO2 (anatase modification) nanocrystals on photoinduced optical absorption and refractive index variations in KDP single crystals with self-action CW laser radiation at 532 1064 nm is studied. It shown that incorporation anatase nanoparticles changes sign nonlinear response relatively to for crystal matrix due resonance overlapping energy states intrinsic defects surface nanoparticles. The magnitude depend concentration incorporated nanoparticles, growth...
The optical spectra of quantum dots CdS and ZnSe grown in borosilicate glass by the sol–gel method are obtained analyzed. It is found that at concentrations two semiconductors x<0.06% emission due to annihilation free (internal) excitons states. mean size (QDs) for a given concentration calculated be good agreement with x-ray data, exciton binding energy allowance dielectric mismatch between semiconductor matrix. proposed this may cause giving rise percolation level observed QD arrays...
The porous silicon (PS) surface modification diagnostics due to functionalization and water adsorption/desorption processes were provided by the self-action effects of picosecond range pulsed laser radiation at 1064 nm. It was shown that PS functionalization-oxide removal, alkylation, oxidation-resulted in a refractive nonlinear optical (NLO) response sign turn self-focusing (Δn>0) versus self-defocusing (Δn<0) observed aged PS. sensitivity proposed technique revealed from chemically...
