A simple fiber-optic sensor based on a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) embedded in modal interferometer (MI) for simultaneous measurements of temperature and strain is proposed experimentally demonstrated. The MI constructed by splicing two sections the no-core (NCF) between single-mode fibers. Due to different responses NCF-based FBG same strain, discrimination can be easily achieved. For 0.01-nm wavelength resolution, resolution 0.216°C 6.75 με respectively.
