The taxonomy of Zamia montana and Z. oligodonta, two poorly understood species occurring at high elevations in the Western Cordillera Colombia, is discussed. oligodonta was recently synonymized under montana, but information derived from recent field studies provided showing are quite distinct. A treatment both presented, including discussion major morphological differences between them also other South American with prominently-veined leaflets. conservation status evaluated.
A new species of the hemiparasitic genus Oryctanthus from Colombia is described and illustrated. This known only two nearby localities it can be distinguished similar by its terete stems being grayish at maturity, coriaceous leaves with secondary inconspicuous venation completely furfuraceous inflorescence peduncles, which are 3 or 4 times longer than fertile portion inflorescence.
