The article presents the results of tribological analyses oil compositions and their temperature-adhesivecharacteristics lubricity. parameters tests carried out using a T-05 tribotester designedto analyze properties lubricants. For purpose study, following samples wereused in analysis friction wear: (i) blocks made X153CrMoV12 steel 60 1 HRC hardness, whose surface roughness parameter Ra ranges from 0.09 to 0.17 μm, (ii) rings 100CRsteel 58 hardness, whose 0.39 0.62 μm.The were performed at...
Raw vegetable oil from Crambe abyssinica was subjected to oxidative treatment enhance its viscosity. The oxidation processes were carried out in the presence of N-hydroxyphthalimide with or without supercritical CO2 as a solvent. Four spectroscopic techniques (Raman, UV-VIS, FT-IR, NMR) applied assess chemical changes taking place during oxidation. Raman and NMR spectroscopy proved best assessment transformations leading increased viscosity modified oil.
Lubricants that are based on renewable raw materials have drawn increased attention in various applications, especially those related to the food industry. Due high requirements of environmental protection, there is a need develop biodegradable base oils environmentally friendly and do not contain harmful components. The objective research was obtain oil with certain viscosity desired lubricating properties. Base were obtained from Crambe abyssinica by means blending synthetic oxidation....
Abstract Studies on the synthesis of esters natural origin fatty acids (oleic acid) and a branched synthetic isostearic acid derived from oleic with commercially available selected higher polyols in presence homogeneous metallic catalysts have been carried out. The effects temperature, molar ratio amount also studied. It was shown that conversion selectivity to tri‐ tetraesters were obtained for organotin catalyst Fascat 2003, which used as esterification catalyst. Anti‐wear test confirmed...
Bio-greases were developed on the basis of vegetable oil obtained from Crambe Abyssinic seeds. An important aspect this research is to monitor changes in their quality taking place under influence external factors. Raman spectroscopy was used identify bio-lubricant mechanical and thermal forces. The performed tests reflected operating temperature friction load that may occur during actual conditions for lubricated systems. spectra provided information qualitative structure tested...
Abstract In this paper, we present the study on synthesis, physico‐chemical, and tribological characterisation of selected plant‐derived fatty acids esters higher polyols. We described here more effective method synthesis desired with high yields selectivities. our novel improved protocol, applied homogeneous Sn catalysts. Physico‐chemical lubricating properties synthesised have been determined discussed. Our results showed that are characterised by excellent viscosity, good low temperature,...
This paper describes an investigation of the effects silicone-containing additives on tribological and rheological properties various lubricant blends. Aerosil® layered silicate were used to modify lubricants containing rapeseed, linseed soy oil that thickened with soap thickener. Tribological tests carried out using a four-ball concentric contact tester. On basis data obtained from studies selected blends, it was concluded addition amorphous silica increased anti-seizure anti-wear tested...
Tests carried out on a rotational rheometer with tribological cell enabled the simultaneous designation oflubricating and viscosity characteristics depending temperature load as function of variable slidingspeed. The analysis dependence coefficient friction sliding speed provided basis forevaluating effectiveness lubrication steel tribosystems bio-lubricants. Spectroscopic methodswere used to monitor changes in microstructure bio-lubricants after tests. scanning electronmicroscopy (SEM)...
Abstract The influence of fullerene soot as well pure C60 on the oxidation stability rapeseed oil is studied. Fullerene (C60 content between 0–6 wt.%) was synthesized by using a carbon arc method. Differential scanning calorimetry applied to estimate induction time fullerene‐oil composites. addition significantly hampered peroxide formation thus increasing tested oils. The diffusing wave spectroscopy (DWS) method made it possible to identify changes in the dynamics of free movement particles grease under influence temperature, which changed viscoelastic properties grease. Changes parameters determined by DWS influenced chemical structure, was confirmed Raman spectroscopy, determining integral intensity unsaturated saturated bond bands found article presents results temperature on states vegetable evaluated basis (diffusing spectroscopy). following were...
Abstract A class of very important industrial-grade biolubricants was synthesized from plant-derived fatty acids (oleic and isostearic acid) by direct esterification trimethylolpropane according to novel effective high selective method using Sn bis(2-ethylhexanoate) as catalyst. Model transesterification reactions were performed with oleic optimize the reaction conditions obtain maximum content TMP triesters. Used specific homogeneous catalyst allows esters triesters, above 94 wt% without...
Abstract The influence of polymer additive (polytetrafluoroethylene) in grease based on paraffin oil the resistance to fatigue wear (pitting) was investigated rolling contact. research results revealed that containing a caused an increase fatigue. It examined whether affects properties grease, including rheological (investigated with use rheometer operated cone/plate configuration) and thermal (determined using Differential Scanning Calorimetry) check their relationship A scanning electron...
