Contact lenses (CL) provide visual correction but their use may also induce several adverse effects causative of discomfort and conditions that lead to stop or discontinue use. Discomfort is mainly caused by insufficient wetting, impairment the antioxidant defence system eye infections. The current work reports on a single step sonochemical coating CL with ZnO nanoparticles (NPs), chitosan (CS) gallic acid (GA). GA CS are expected improve comfort imparting respectively properties enhanced...

Ubiquinone (UQ) is one of the main electron and proton shuttle molecules in biological systems, dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) most used model lipids. Supported planar bilayers (SPBs) are extensively accepted as membranes. In this study, SPBs have been deposited on ITO, which a semiconductor with good electrical optical features. Specifically, topographic atomic force microscopy (AFM) images curves performed several DPPC:UQ ratios to study location interaction UQ SPB. Additionally,...

The Langmuir technique has been applied to the study of natural tears and results obtained from surface pressure-area isotherms have correlated with those clinical tests (the Schirmer TFBUT tests). population studied only included people aged over 45. Natural were collected strips, which placed in contact water subphase a trough for recording isotherms. These classified as good or weak according characteristics obtained. From isotherms, characteristic values such π limit , C S -1 max also...

The electrodeposition of tin in presence tartrate ions has been analysed by electrochemical techniques, mainly chronoamperometry, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM).The obtained values nucleus density with both techniques have compared discussed. The process follows an instantaneous nucleation 3D growth under diffusion control at the initial times process, but a second occurs higher times. The influence agitation conditions is also inferred from crystal morphology.

The use of terahertz-based techniques has grown very fast since they are capable performing evaluations at molecular level, being suitable for the analysis biological samples and biomaterials such as those contact lenses. These continuously evolving to enhance lens wearer's comfort by improving their hydration state surface wettability. Therefore, this study examines a novel terahertz system assessment temporary in vitro dehydration hydrogel lenses, which provides new index assess...

Photosynthetic organisms use light to convert the inorganic matter in organic one. process consists on several steps, and one of them involves plastoquinone (PQ) that acts as electron proton shuttle between photosystem II cytochrome. We prepared membranes mimic characteristics composition natural photosynthetic we characterized using techniques order obtain both PQ molecules disposition membrane their electrochemical behavior. The selected lipid was monogalactosyldiacylglycerol (MGDG)...

The zinc electrochemical behaviour from sulphate and sulphate-gluconate baths was studied both on a vitreous carbon copper electrode. The voltammetric response depends the complexing agent concentration, electrode material, pH cathodic potential limit. The reduction of ions proceeds with hydrogen evolution, at less negative potentials than electrode, specially in absence gluconate.Gluconate decreases efficiency process. On other hand, gluconate favours electrodeposition but retards it copper.

The previous approach developed to study anion-induced adsorption of Cd(II) halide solutions [10] is applied the Cd(II)-iodide system at several ionic strengths. experimental surface excess calculated for single step chronocoulmetry and a new expression change capacitive charge during potential has been obtained in order include ligand promoted by metal complexes. As was bromide medium, allows one conclude that anionic tricoordinate, CdI3–, tetracoordinate, CdI42–, complexes are adsorbed...
