A novel Gram-stain-negative strain, designated ZYY5T, was isolated from rice roots. Results of 16S rRNA gene analysis indicated that strain ZYY5T a member the genus Dickeya, with highest similarity to Dickeya zeae DSM 18068T (98.5%). The major fatty acids were summed feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c and/or C16:1 ω6c), C16:0 and 8 (C18:1 C18:1 ω6c). Multi-locus sequence using five concatenated genes (16S rRNA, atpD, infB, recA gyrB) phylogenomic based on 2940 core sequences showed formed robust cluster...

Comamonas sp. strain CNB-1, isolated from activated sludge and having a strong ability to degrade 4-chloronitrobenzene (4CNB), was applied for rhizoremediation of 4CNB-polluted soil through association with alfalfa. Confocal laser scanning microscopy revealed that CNB-1 successfully colonized alfalfa roots. Determination populations by cultivation method quantitative competitive PCR technique targeting the chloronitrobenzene nitroreductase gene showed population in rhizosphere about 10-100...

Tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa) is a perennial plant indigenous to China known for its elegant and vibrantly colorful flowers. A few genes involved in petal pigmentation have been cloned tree peony. However, date, there studies on the comparison selection of stable reference gene expression analysis by quantitative reverse-transcription PCR (qRT-PCR) this species. In study, 10 candidate were evaluated normalization qRT-PCR three cultivars. GAPDH UBC identified as top two most 'Feng Dan'...

Abstract Background The development of plant gene transfer systems has allowed for the introgression alien genes into genomes novel disease control strategies, thus providing a mechanism broadening genetic resources available to breeders. Using tools engineering, broad-spectrum antimicrobial was tested resistance against head blight caused by Fusarium graminearum Schwabe, devastating wheat ( Triticum aestivum L.) and barley Hordeum vulgare that reduces both grain yield quality. Results A...

Tree peony (Paeonia sect. Moutan) has long been known as a horticultural and medicinal plant in China. Recent studies have shown that tree may further potential applications the field of edible oils. The selection cultivation acceptable varieties is key issue. Seed from 21 genotypes belonging to P. ostii, rockii, ludlowii were evaluated for their oil contents fatty acid compositions. results indicated average 28.05%, 30.52%, 27.62% (w/w), respectively. Averaged over all genotypes, major...

Abstract Soil degradation has been found in urban forests Shanghai, especially the pure plantations. Mixed plantations are considered to improve soil quality because they can stimulate organic matter cycling and increase carbon nutrient content. Although microbes play crucial roles regulating biogeochemical processes, little is known about how mixed affect microbial communities, including bacteria, archaea, fungi. Here, we evaluated chemical properties, abundances compositions of bacterial,...
