In previous studies we have transferred thyroiditis to naive BALB/c and NOD mice with human thyrotropin (TSH) receptor (TSHR)-primed splenocytes. Because the TSHR has been implicated in pathogenesis of thyroid eye disease (TED) examined orbits recipients TSHR-primed T cells, generated using a fusion protein or by genetic immunization. mice, 25 26 animals treated cells developed considerable follicular destruction, numerous activated CD8+ immunoreactivity for IFN-gamma. Thyroxine levels were...
Abstract Veno-occlusive disease/sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (VOD/SOS) is a potentially life-threatening complication of haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) conditioning. The DEFIFrance post-marketing registry study evaluated effectiveness and safety in patients who received defibrotide. It collected retrospective/prospective patient data from 53 French HCT centres July 2014 to March 2020. Primary endpoints were survival complete response (CR; total serum bilirubin <2 mg/dL,...
We performed a prospective multicenter phase 2 study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of prophylactic Extracorporeal Photopheresis (ECP) in adult patients with hematological malignancies early after RIC allo-HSCT on day 21 twice per week during first two weeks then once for next four total eight ECP courses. A 20 were included; 10 males, median age was 60 years. All engrafted, 17 (85%) received There no adverse effects related ECP. Seven developed acute graft-versus-host disease (GVHD),...
Despite frequent anemia and multiple transfusions in patients undergoing chemotherapy allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) for acute myeloid leukemia , recommendations use of erythropoiesis-stimulating agents (ESAs) these populations are still missing. The primary objective was the effect ESA administration on patient's quality life (QoL). Secondary objectives were hemoglobin (Hb) recovery, red blood (RBC) transfusions, overall survival, event-free survival.Adult...
Abstract We have retrospectively compared survivals between acute myeloid leukemia ( AML )/myelodysplastic syndrome MDS ) patients who received either a clofarabine/busulfan (CloB2A2) or fludarabine/busulfan FB 2A2) RIC regimen for allogeneic stem cell transplantation. Between 2009 and 2014, 355 allotransplanted cases were identified from the SFGM ‐ TC registry as having 2A2 n = 316, 56% males, median age: 59.2 years, 78.5%, first complete remission [ CR 1] 72%, follow‐up: 20 months) CloB2A2...
Introduction Primary refractory disease affects 30–40% of patients diagnosed with DLBCL and is a significant challenge in management due to its poor prognosis. Predicting status could greatly inform treatment strategies, enabling early intervention. Various options are now available based on patient characteristics. Supervised machine-learning techniques, which can predict outcomes medical context, appear highly suitable for this purpose. Design Retrospective monocentric cohort study....
The principal limitation of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation except relapse remains the transplant-related mortality (TRM). In addition to graft-versus-host disease (GvHD), infections contribute TRM in many patients. We describe herein a case an adult patient presenting 5 months after haplo-identical isolated fulminant hepatitis due adenovirus.
Summary. Prior to the introduction of virally inactivated clotting factor concentrates, majority patients with haemophilia became infected hepatitis C virus. Although transjugular liver biopsy can be safely performed in these patients, procedure is associated a significant financial burden mainly related replacement therapy factor. The purpose this study was evaluate feasibility and safety substituted concentrates for major surgical procedures. Over last 5 years, nine within 1–10 days after...
Abstract Background There are currently few data on the outcome of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) in adolescents after allogeneic HSCT. The aim this study is to describe and its specific risk factors for children, young adults a first HSCT AML. Methods In retrospective study, we compared AML patients receiving between 2005 2017 according their age at transplantation’s time: children (< 15 years, n = 564), adolescent post-adolescent (APA) (15–25 647) (26–40 years; 1434). Results With median...
This retrospective analysis aimed to assess the outcome of 40 patients with refractory or high risk AML/MDS who received FLAMSA sequential chemotherapy. There were 30 males and 10 females a median age 52 years (32-66). Diseases characteristics were: progressive disease after rescue treatment for first relapse (n = 21), early without any further salvage therapy 4), primary induction failure 4). The series also included 7 MDS 4 in CR but having very poor prognosis.
