A CuO-loaded SrTiO3 catalyst showed highly photocatalytic activity for H2 evolution. This was prepared by an impregnation method and characterized XRD, TEM, BET, XPS, Uv-vis DRS PL techniques. Under optimum conditions, the best rate of evolution is 5811 µmol h−1g−1, whereas it a mere 34 h−1g−1 pure SrTiO3. A simple, highly efficient and green three-component condensation for synthesis of 2-substituted-3-(2-oxoalkyl)isoindolin-1-one derivatives from phthalaldehydic acid, primary amine, ketone in the presence thiamine hydrochloride (VB1) as catalyst water has been developed.
