In the present study, chitosan and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) were blended with different concentrations of sodium montmorillonite (Na+MMT) clay solution by a solvent casting method. X-ray diffraction transition electron microscope results show that film properties are related to co-existence Na+MMT intercalation/exfoliation in blend interaction between chitosan-PVA Na+MMT. 5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) was loaded chitosan-PVA/Na+MMT nanocomposite films for vitro drug delivery study. The antimicrobial...

Blast is one of the most devastating fungal diseases rice caused by Magnaporthe oryzae. Plant essential oil (EO) can function as antifungal agents and are regarded a safe acceptable method for plant disease control. However, EOs unstable hydrophobic, which limits its use. In present study, we aimed preparation characterization nanoemulsion (NE) from green tea (GTO) ultrasonication determined activity NE on M. The particle size zeta potential were 86.98 nm −15.1 mV, respectively. chemical...

Summary Mango fruit has high commercial value; however, major postharvest losses are encountered throughout the supply chain due to diseases. These results lead search for natural fungicide diseases control. The antifungal effects of five essential oils (thyme, clove, cinnamon, anise and vitex) were assessed by disc volatilisation method. Thyme oil vapours at 5 μL per Petriplate, clove cinnamon 8 Petriplate showed 100% growth inhibition mango pathogens in vitro . GC / MS analysis thymol...

CONTEXT: Rapid detection of pathogens in infected body fluids will help establishing an aetiological diagnosis, thereby facilitating specific therapy. Molecular methods have advantage over conventional bacteriological techniques particularly identifying slow-growing, fastidious or non-cultivable organisms.AIM: The aim this study is to evaluate the use 16S rRNA polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for detecting bacterial and compare with culture methods.SETTINGS AND DESIGN: This was done at...

Increasing evidence suggests that the endophytic fungus Piriformospora indica helps plants overcome various abiotic stresses, especially heavy metals. However, mechanism of metal tolerance has not yet been elucidated. Here, role P. in alleviating cadmium (Cd) toxicities tobacco was investigated. It found improved Cd to tobacco, increasing accumulation roots but decreasing leaves. The colonization altered subcellular repartition Cd, proportion cell walls while reducing membrane/organelle and...
