Human periosteal skeletal stem cells (P-SSCs) are critical for cortical bone maintenance and repair. However, their in vivo identity, molecular characteristics, specific markers remain unknown. Here, single-cell sequencing revealed human periosteum contains SSC clusters expressing known markers, PDPN PDGFRA. Notably, P-SSCs, but not marrow SSCs (BM-SSCs), selectively expressed newly identified LRP1 CD13. These LRP1+CD13+ P-SSCs were perivascular with high osteochondrogenic minimal adipogenic...

Periosteum and bone marrow (BM) both contain skeletal stem/progenitor cells (SSCs) that participate in fracture repair. However, the functional difference selective regulatory mechanisms of SSCs different locations are unknown due to lack specific markers. Here, we report a comprehensive gene expression analysis (BM-SSCs), periosteal (P-SSCs), more differentiated osteoprogenitors by using reporter mice expressing Interferon-inducible Mx1 NestinGFP, previously known SSC We first defined...

Osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) is characterized by short stature, skeletal deformities, low bone mass, and motor deficits. A subset of OI patients also present with joint hypermobility; however, the role tendon dysfunction in pathogenesis largely unknown. Using Crtap -/- mouse model severe, recessive OI, we found that mutant Achilles patellar tendons were thinner weaker increased collagen cross-links reduced fibril size at 1- 4-months compared to wildtype. Patellar from mice had altered...

Macau has the uppermost population density and fourth-highest GDP per capita in world. Macau’s banking system is regarded as one of most important indicators macroeconomic growth stability during its transformation into a wealthy modern metropolis. In this study, we use sample 26 banks to explore relationship bank competition, efficiency from return China 1999 2016. Our results demonstrate that competition does cause throughout study period. We also find indications positive but not...
