Although Interplanetary Telecommunications rely on preconfigured contact schedules to make routing decisions, there is a lack of appropriate mechanisms notify the network about plan changes. In order fill this gap, we propose and evaluate framework for disseminating information queueing delays link disruptions. context, present such mechanism, focusing not only its functional properties, but rather impact objectives: improve accuracy performance. Supportively, couple mechanism with...

The Internet has crossed new frontiers with access to it getting faster and cheaper. Considering that the architectural foundations of today's were laid more than three decades ago, done remarkably well until today coping growing demand. However, future architecture is expected support not only ever number users devices, but also a diverse set applications services. Departing from traditional host-centric paradigm, where desired content mapped its location, an information-centric model...

Blockchain technology enables the trustless sharing of distributed ledgers among peers. Despite having valuable properties like decentralisation, and immutability transactions, it incurs a high performance overhead as compared with traditional databases thus discouraging its further adoption. Even usage different transaction processors within same platform, namely Hyperledger Sawtooth, may result in performance, for use case type. This paper proposes methodology evaluating two deployed...

As the number of space elements increases, routing becomes an issue great interest. The majority schemes that have been proposed till now, employ a fairly static design and, only recently, more sophisticated protocols introduced. In this study, we evaluate some most prominent for Delay-Tolerant Networks, Epidemic, PRoPHET and Contact Graph Routing, in environment. Using COMNET Lab's DTN testbed, show increasing delay, Routing significantly outperforms other two schemes.

The advent and wide adoption of smartphones in the second half '00s has completely changed our everyday mobile computing experience. Tens applications are being introduced every day application markets. Given technology progress fact that devices becoming strong devices, expected to follow suit become computation-heavy, bandwidth-hungry latency-sensitive. In this paper, we introduce a new paradigm alleviate some network stress already putting into network, e.g., case crowded areas events,...

Recent trends in scientific low Earth orbit satellite missions involve small, low-cost satellites communicating with multiple ground stations. We propose a peer-to-peer multicast distribution scheme accompanied by best-effort broadcasting mechanism randomized retransmissions that is tailored for such missions. Through our simulation tools, we assess the performance of new, model; evaluate benefits decentralized distribution; and quantify trade-off between data reliability return volume.

As the space communications infrastructure of near future is yet to be standardized, many protocols have been proposed cope with issues such as long propagation delays, high packet error rates and intermittent connectivity. In that context, we designed a testbed, which incorporates conditions, mission scenarios communication requirements, rendering extensive evaluation design feasible efficient.

Summary In this work, we propose an end‐to‐end retransmission framework for dynamically calculating efficient time‐out intervals in delay‐tolerant networks (DTNs) with scheduled connectivity. The proposed combines deterministic and statistical information about the network state to calculate worst‐case estimates expected round trip times. Such includes connectivity schedules, convergence layer protocols specifics, communication link characteristics, statistics maximum packet error rates...
