Abstract Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) and micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) were applied to the simultaneous separation of cyanobacterial toxins (anatoxin‐a, microcystin‐LR, cylindrospermopsin). The analytical performance data both methods, optimized for three toxins, similar with a precision migration times smaller than 0.8 RSD% detection limit in range 1–4 μg/mL, using spectrophotometric at 230 nm. Both methods an analysis cyanotoxins water bloom samples crude extracts....
This paper describes the development and study of a disposable inexpensive microfluidic chip, fabricated from poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) incorporating conventional chromatographic reversed-phase silica particles (C18) without use frits, permanent physical barriers, tapers, or restrictors. The packing C18 modified into channels is made possible by hydrophobic nature excellent elasticity PDMS. Keystone-, clamping-, anchor-effects provide stability compactness attenuated wall-effects were observed.
Abstract [Gd(DTPA‐BMA)] is the principal constituent of Omniscan, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent. In body fluids, endogenous ions (Zn 2+ , Cu and Ca ) may displace Gd 3+ . To assess extent displacement at equilibrium, stability constants DTPA‐BMA 3− complexes Zn have been determined 37 °C in 0.15 M NaCl. The order these as follows: GdL≈CuL>ZnL≫CaL. Applying simplified blood plasma model, dissociation Omniscan (0.35 m [Gd(DTPA‐BMA)]) was found to be 17 % by formation...
Abstract Background Post-operative pulmonary infection often appears to result from aspiration of pathogens colonizing the oral cavity. It was hypothesized that impaired periodontal status and pathogenic bacteria significantly contribute development pneumonia following neurosurgical operations. Further, prophylactic effects a single dose preoperative cefazolin on were investigated. Methods A matched cohort 18 patients without postoperative lung complications compared 5 who developed within...
Abstract FvatfA from the maize pathogen Fusarium verticillioides putatively encodes Aspergillus nidulans AtfA and Schizasaccharomyces pombe Atf1 orthologous bZIP-type transcription factor, FvAtfA. In this study, a ΔFvatfA deletion mutant was constructed then genetically complemented with fully functional gene. Comparing phenotypic features of wild-type parental, restored strains shed light on versatile regulatory functions played by FvAtfA in (i) maintenance vegetative growth Czapek-Dox...
Given the strong interdisciplinary nature of microfluidic immobilized enzyme reactor (μ-IMER) technology, several branches science contribute to its successful implementation. A combination physical, chemical knowledge and engineering skills is often required. The development application μ-IMERs in proteomic community are experiencing increasing importance due their attractive features reusability, shorter digestion times, ability handle minute volumes sample prospect on-line integration...
Although, in general, the application of coated capillaries is recommended for separation intact proteins, bare silica capillary still most often used due to its simplicity and cheapness. In this work, performance fused protein analysis was compared that different (dynamically polybrene (PB) permanently linear polyacrylamide (LPA)) using zone electrophoresis - mass spectrometry (CZE-MS). cases where low pH (pH=1.8) capillaries, good precision (0.56-0.78 RSD% 1.7-6.5 migration times peak...
A new flame method of atomic absorption spectrometry is described. The liquid sample to be analyzed transported as a high-speed jet into heated tube which positioned in an air/acetylene flame. generated by means HPLC pump feeds smooth nozzle having diameter 50 μm or smaller. After traveling distance 10 cm, the enters small introduction hole, impacts onto opposite inner wall furnace, and immediately vaporizes (jet impact vaporization, JIV). Both complete entire extended residence time inside...
The applicability of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) for the separation deamidated forms insulin has been studied. 50 mM NH4Ac (pH=9) with 20 % v/v isopropylalcohol was found optimal efficient from its even 10 forms. developed method efficiently applied monitoring degradation rate and formation different deamidation isoforms. Two months after acidification more than thirty peaks can be observed in electropherogram, because products other components were formed as well. recorded mass...
In this work, human insulin and its 6 analogues were separated determined using CZE-MS. Three different capillaries (bare fused silica, successive multiple ionic-polymer layer (SMIL) static linear polyacrylamide (LPA) coated) compared based on their separation performances in optimal operating conditions. Coated demonstrated slightly better of the components, although some components showed wide, distorted peaks. The highest plate number could be obtained SMIL capillary (192 000/m). For UV...
The applicability of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) for the separation different recombinant human insulins and their deamidated isoforms was studied. high resolving power CZE is demonstrated by its ability to separate insulin differing only 0.984 Da (different-fold forms) even components having exacts same mass but slightly shapes (same-fold forms). From among several available, humulin, glargine glulisine were selected our study because sequences chemical parameters are quite...
