Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) are widely used for the management of advanced heart failure and ventricular arrhythmias. CIED-Infection (CIED-I) has very high mortality, especially in subsets patients with limited health-care access delayed presentation. The purpose this study is to identify risk-predictors mortality subjects CIED-I.
Introduction: Right subclavian artery (RSA) normally originates from brachiocephalic artery, but in 0.4-1.8% of the general population it may arise directly aortic arch distal to left artery. We present a case acute limb ischemia due dissection and thrombosis anomalous right (ARSA) following transradial PCI. Case: A 60-year-old female presented with anterior STEMI. Coronary angiogram was performed via approach. During procedure noted be exceedingly tortuous coronary catheterization...
Emergent pericardiocentesis is a potentially life-saving therapeutic procedure. We report case of hemoperitoneum, rare but known complication pericardiocentesis; due to hepatic artery laceration and pseudoaneurysm formation resulting in delayed hemorrhagic shock as emergent pericardiocentesis. (
Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APLS) is a systematic autoimmune disease characterized by thrombotic events, including arterial, venous, and microvascular complications. Often, patients initially present with either arterial or venous thromboembolism but rarely simultaneously thromboembolic events.1Garcia D. Introduction: The use of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Devices (CIEDs) has increased considerably over the past few decades driven by evolving device technology and expanding indications. CIED infections are an important consideration given their clinical economic impact. Hypothesis: This study sought to assess impact regional referral versus direct presentation expert tertiary care facility in patients with infected CIED. Methods: Retrospective analysis a database presenting infection...
