Results from Blind Test Series 1, part of the Collaborative Computational Project in Wave Structure Interaction (CCP-WSI), are presented.Participants, with a range numerical methods, simulate blindly interaction between fixed structure and focused waves ranging steepness direction.Numerical results compared against corresponding physical data. The predictive capability each method is assessed based on pressure run-up measurements. In general, all methods perform well cases considered, however,...

In this article, a simple and mild preparation of secondary pores are reported, for the first time, with uniform tunable sizes (in wide range 0.9–4.8 nm) in walls highly connecting primary mesochannels 3D mesopore networks. The obtained by using ordered 2D hexagonal mesoporous anatase TiO 2 –SiO nanocomposites as precursors, NaOH an etchant via “extracting SiO ” approach. strategy here adopts diluted solution, appropriate extraction temperature, solid/liquid ratio. photocatalytic degradation...

Abstract Atmospheric deposition can affect marine phytoplankton by supplying macronutrients and trace elements. We conducted mesocosm experiments adding aerosols with different composition (dominated mineral dust, biomass burning high Cu, secondary aerosol, respectively) to the surface seawater of East China Sea. Chlorophyll a concentrations were found be highest lowest after containing Fe dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), respectively. The relative abundance Haptophyceae increased...

Aerodynamic performance of a wind turbine at different tilt angles was studied based on the commercial CFD software STAR-CCM+. Tilt 0, 4, 8 and 12° were investigated uniform speed shear. In simulation, rotating motion blade sliding mesh. The thrust, power, lift drag section airfoil have been widely herein. Meanwhile, tip vortices velocity profiles physically observed. addition, influence shear exponents expected value turbulence intensity aerodynamic is also further discussed. results...

The paper presents the contribution to CCP-WSI Blind Test, in which responses of wave energy converterssubjected extreme waves are considered, by a hybrid model, qaleFOAM, coupling two-phase Navier–Stokes (NS) modeland fully nonlinear potential theory (FNPT) using spatially hierarchical approach. former governs limitedcomputational domain (NS domain) around structures and is solved OpenFOAM/InterDyMFoam. lattercovers rest (FNPT quasi Lagrangian-Eulerian finite element method. Two numerical...

Atmospheric deposition of nutrients to the surface seawater may significantly affect marine phytoplankton growth. Two in situ bioassay experiments were performed East China Sea (ECS) by adding (N, P, and Si) atmospheric aerosols into seawater. Chlorophyll a (Chl a) concentrations largely enhanced simultaneous input N P with maximal increase 0.68–0.78 μg Chl per μmol addition. This increment was lower (0.19–0.47 μg) aerosol treatments as result initial N-replete condition (N/P ratio ~50)...

The Transformable-Craft (T-Craft) is an innovative vessel serving as a connector between sea base and beachheads. When operatingat seas, the T-Craft surface effect ship (SES) with compartmented air cushions. To analysis seakeeping performance of SES, high efficient 2D/2.5D analytical model has been developed by combining one dimensional waveequation for solving aerodynamics pressurized cushion STF/2.5D method hydrodynamics demihulls at low/high speeds. enhance computational efficiency,...
