AbstractObjective: To evaluate HRCT scans of the chest in 22 patients with cocaine-induced pulmonary disease. Methods: We included between 19 and 52 years age. The were evaluated by two radiologists independently, discordant results being resolved consensus. inclusion criterion was an scan showing abnormalities that temporally related to cocaine use, no other apparent causal factors. Results:In 8 (36.4%), clinical tomographic findings consistent "crack lung", those cases studied separately....

The aim of this study was to show the usefulness chemical-shift MRI in diagnosis intranodular fat seven patients with pulmonary hamartomas and indeterminate CT findings. In setting MRI, average nodule signal intensity index 45.3% (SD = 25.5%). correlation between attenuation Hounsfield units -0.94. Chemical-shift could be an important tool for detection inconclusive findings.

Metastatic pulmonary calcification is a consequence of calcium deposition in the normal parenchyma, secondary to abnormal metabolism. The most characteristic radiological manifestation poorly defined nodular opacities that are mainly seen upper lung zone. aim this report describe CT and MRI findings observed two patients with metastatic calcification. disease may present as consolidations calcification, high lesion/muscle signal intensity ratio on T1 weighted imaging without contrast MRI....

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has several advantages in the evaluation of cancer patients with thoracic lesions, including involvement chest wall, pleura, lungs, mediastinum, esophagus and heart. It is a quite useful tool diagnosis, staging, surgical planning, treatment response follow-up these patients. In present review, authors contextualize relevance MRI lesions Considering that widely available method high contrast spatial resolution without risks associated use ionizing radiation,...

Pulmonary interstitial emphysema is a rare condition that generally affects low-weight preterm infants submitted to mechanical ventilation. The prognosis variable, depending on early diagnosis and treatment. radiologist plays key role in this scenario. authors report case of persistent pulmonary emphysema, describing the main characteristics such entity.

Superior vena cava aneurysms are rare mediastinal vascular lesions. Aneurysms classified as fusiform and saccular, with the latter being rarer than former. We report case of an asymptomatic 75-year-old woman who presented a superior mass. She underwent chest computed tomography angiography, which demonstrated saccular aneurysm in cava.
