We report the real-time detection of protein using SWNT-FET-based biosensors comprising DNA aptamers as molecular recognition elements. Anti-thrombin that are highly specific to serine thrombin were immobilized on sidewall a SWNT-FET CDI-Tween linking molecules. The binding SWNT-FETs causes rightward shift threshold gate voltages, presumably due negatively charged backbone aptamers. While addition solution an abrupt decrease in conductance aptamer SWNT-FET, no noticeable change was observed...

Recently, natural sun blockers have been drawing considerable attention because synthetic UV filters could adverse effects not only on humans but also the environment. Even though lignin, second most abundant renewable resource earth, is a UV-absorbing polymer, its unfavorable dark color hampers applications in sunscreens. In this work, we obtained light-colored lignin (CEL) from rice husks through cellulolytic enzyme treatment and subsequent solvent extraction under mild conditions compared...

Wireless communication: Platinum nanoparticles (nPt) in an electrolyte enhance electron transfer from the electrode to NAD+ during indirect electrochemical regeneration of NADH (see picture). The intermediate nPt-Hads, formed at negative potential, helps turnover primary mediator M by donating a proton and kinetically favorable way. Visual oxygen indicators can give information on the quality and safety of packaged food in an economic simple manner by changing color based amount packaging, which is related to spoilage. In particular, ultraviolet (UV)-activated have advantages in-pack activation irreversibility; however, these dye-based indicator films suffer from dye leaching upon contact with water. this work, we introduce carrageenans, are natural sulfated polysaccharides, develop UV-activated colorimetric that...

Intelligent food packaging can provide consumers with reliable and correct information on the quality safety of packaged foods. One key constituents in intelligent is a colorimetric oxygen indicator, which widely used to detect gas involved spoilage by means color change. Traditional indicators consisting redox dyes strong reducing agents have two major problems: they must be manufactured stored under anaerobic conditions because air depletes reductant, their components are synthetic toxic....

Horseradish peroxidase-catalyzed polymerization of cardanol in aqueous organic solvent was investigated the presence a redox mediator. Cardanol is phenol derivative from renewable resource mainly having C15 unsaturated hydrocarbon chain with mostly 1−3 double bonds at meta position. Unlike soybean peroxidase (SBP), it has been shown that horseradish (HRP) not able to perform oxidative derivatives bulky substituent such as cardanol. For first time, mediators have applied enable polymerize...

Abstract Background Bacterial cellulose ( BC )‐based materials have many potential applications in the biomedical field because of their inherent biocompatibility. Carbon nanotubes CNTs ) been used as electrode owing to high electrical conductivity. In this study, BC‐CNT composite electrodes were prepared simply by directly filtering through hydrogel and vacuum drying containing . Glucose oxidase GOx was immobilized on electrodes. Results Cyclic voltammograms revealed that BC‐CNT‐GOx had a...
