We fabricate transparent MgAl2O4 nano-ceramics, which are composed of 40 nm grains, by sintering under high pressure and low temperatures. Analysis the grain size, differential strains, yield strength porosity obtained from transmission electron microscopy x-ray diffraction indicates that pores at boundary triple junctions can retard migration thus prevent growth. It is found relatively density for nano-ceramics produced low-temperature attributed mainly to large energy in exteriors. The...

AlON powders were synthesized by two‐step carbothermal reduction nitridation method, which includes thermal treatment of Al 2 O 3 /C mixtures at 1200°C–1600°C for h, followed subsequent heating 1750°C 1.5 h in N flow. The effects soaking temperatures the first step on phase compositions and morphologies final products investigated. It is found that variation precalcination does not have impact products, are all single‐phase AlON. However, it impacts morphology significantly. Lower...

Zircon (ZrSiO4, I41/amd) can accommodate actinides, such as thorium, uranium, and plutonium. The zircon structure has been determined for several of the end-member compositions other plutonium neptunium. However, thermodynamic properties these actinide types are largely unknown due to difficulties in synthesizing materials handling transuranium actinides. Thus, we have completed a study cerium orthosilicate, stetindite (CeSiO4), surrogate PuSiO4. For first time, standard enthalpy formation...
