Natural environments have been shown to trigger psychological and physiological restoration in humans. A new framework regarding natural restorative properties is proposed. Conditioned theory builds on a classical conditioning paradigm, postulating the occurrence of four stages: (i) unconditioned restoration, positive affective responses reliably occur given environment (such as setting); (ii) conditioning, become conditioned environment; (iii) subsequent exposure environment, absence...

A reform of regional government in Norway was implemented on January 1, 2020. The management county roads transferred from the National Public Roads Administration to counties. number counties reduced 19 11. We investigated knowledge of local toll roads among Oslo residents with a valid driver’s license and access to car through survey (N = 419; sample: e-scooter users). Knowledge prices, rules, rush hour times is limited. Only 0.5-3% respondents indicate correct price (±1 NOK) for toll-passings. Correct answers regarding monthly hourly payment caps are 10% 17%, respectively. Finally, 4-44% indicated the time when peak hours start or stop.

Understanding free-riding is central to effective household energy retrofit subsidy policymaking. We replicate a Swiss study on prevalence in retrofitting Norway Studer and Rieder (2019). Compared the original studies of 50%, we find only 10%, indicating that Norwegian low. Similar study, use advisory service having good perception implementer associated with not free-riding, but argue these findings should be interpreted entirely causally, as confounding variables can also explain this...

This study examines the relationships between traffic safety innovations, innovation culture, and culture in four Norwegian county authorities three years after a comprehensive structural reform. Following reform, had to establish new organisations, routines, systems. The is based on qualitative interviews (N = 42) quantitative survey (n 392) among people who work with and/or mobility authorities. results show particular that respondents have gained perspectives as result of being...

As the heating of private households represents 16.5% all EU final energy consumption, household retrofitting is a central part solution for ongoing climate crisis. However, ABM models have not sufficiently been explored as tool designing policies reducing consumption through retrofitting. This paper presents Household Energy Retrofit Behavior (HERB) model, which simulated in neighbourhood. The HERB model feeds decision-making process based on existing behavioural retrofit research with survey...

Abstract: Creating an optimized health care environment to maximize the probability and magnitude of placebo effects draws on a number well-researched mechanisms such as patient's positive expectation toward treatment outcome. Patient-centered communication styles influence expectations can thus be considered form supplemental treatment. Energy Justice (EJ) and particularly equality (EE), arguably a radical conceptualization of energy justice, advocated for distributional justice policies addressing inequalities. Distributional are known to be contentious often raise debates on the opportunity interfere with free-market allocation goods in capitalistic economies. Whether EE inspired might considered implementable or not depends their social acceptability. Therefore, holding previous research findings pointing higher...

We investigate whether the acceptance of autonomous trucks as a function their impact on traffic jams and injury rates are affected by loss aversion diminishing sensitivity described in prospect theory. In an online survey (N = 447), we presented randomised sets values replacement human truck drivers would have injuries. Adjusting for provides no additional explained variance model, but adjusting does.

Abstract Incentivizing energy-efficient retrofits in residential sectors often involves subsidies, which are aimed at lowering a building’s environmental impact. However, the effectiveness of these subsidies has been debated, particularly concerning an unintended consequence known as free-riding. Free-riders investors who would have made even without subsidy. Typically, high prevalence free-riding is perceived negatively from economic perspective terms impact and efficiency policy. apart...

Existing research from the Netherlands suggests that bicycle attitudes and behaviour affect each other, but affects attitude more than vice versa (Kroesen et al., 2017). We conducted a quasi-replication study using existing datasets (n=972) with slightly different operationalisations timeframes in Norwegian context. Using two variations of structural equation model, we confirm this bidirectional effect, though our findings show considerably stronger influence on reverse.
