Spin-crossover coordination nanoparticles of the cyanide-bridged three-dimensional network Fe(pyrazine){Pt(CN)4} were prepared at three different sizes using a microemulsion. The 14 nm particles present transition centered around 265 K with hysteresis 6 K.
Co/Fe Prussian Blue analogues are known to display both thermally and light induced electron transfer attributed the switching between diamagnetic {FeIILS(μ-CN)CoIIILS} paramagnetic {FeIIILS(μ-CN)CoIIHS} pairs (LS = low spin; HS high spin). In this work, a dinuclear cyanido-bridged complex, smallest {Fe(μ-CN)Co} moiety at origin of remarkable physical properties these systems, has been designed by rational building-block approach. Combined structural, spectroscopic, magnetic photomagnetic...
Anisotropic nanoparticles of the Fe(pyrazine)Pt(CN)4 network were prepared embedded in various matrices that revealed to have a dramatic effect on cooperative spin crossover phenomena. By judicious choice nature matrix and control interparticle distances, hysteresis 15 K was achieved close room temperature for such nano-objects.
Currently available methodologies arguably lack the exquisite control required for producing metal–organic framework (MOF) thin films of sufficient quality electronic applications. By directing MOF transfer with self-assembled monolayers (SAMs), we achieve very smooth, homogeneous, highly oriented, ultrathin across millimeter-scale areas that display moderate conductivity likely due to electron hopping. Here, SAM is key thereby enlarging number and nature substrates choice. We have exploited...

Through an extensive set of SQUID magnetic measurements, X-ray absorption spectroscopy, and circular dichroism, we have determined the nature metastable photomagnetic phase in cyano-bridged 3D network Cs2Cu7[Mo(CN)8]4. The effect is induced by photoconversion Mo(IV) ions low spin (LS) configuration (S = 0) into high (HS) 1). spectroscopic measurements fully support LS to HS conversion, whereas previously invoked charge transfer mechanism + Cu(II) ⇒ Mo(V) Cu(I) can be completely ruled out.
Polyoxometalates (POMs) are unconventional electro-active molecules with a great potential for applications in molecular memories, providing efficient processing steps onto electrodes available. Nanocrystals are often described as interesting materials for the design of low-cost optoelectronic devices, especially in infrared range. However, driving reaching absorption generally contain heavy metals (Pb and Hg) with a high toxicity. An alternative strategy to achieve transition is use doped semiconductors presenting intraband or plasmonic short-, mid-, long-wave infrared. This may offer more flexibility regarding range possible candidate materials. In particular, significant progress...

Intraband and plasmonic transitions have appeared over the last years as an interesting tool to achieve optical absorption in mid-infrared. Tuning doping magnitude has become a major challenge not only tune spectrum but also properties such dark current or time response. Here, we investigate case of self-doped HgSe colloidal quantum dots (CQDs). At present, tuning relies on band bending induced by dipole design at nanoparticle surface. With surface gating approach, it is difficult conciliate...
The polyoxomolybdate hybrid TBA3[PMo11O39{Sn(C6H4)C≡C(C6H4)N2}] KMoSn[N2+] was prepared through Sonogashira-type coupling between TBA4[PMo11O39{Sn(C6H4)I}] KMoSn[I] and an excess of 3,3-diethyl-1-(4-ethynylphenyl)triaz-1-ene bearing a protected diazonium function, followed by its deprotection the addition trifluoroacetic acid (TFA). This enlarges family organic–inorganic polyoxomolybdate-based hybrids, which has been far less investigated than their related polyoxotungstates. function allows...
