Laboratory experiments were carried out with the aim of adapting a (FetO) dynamic control technique, in which is estimated by calculating oxygen balance during blowing, to hot metal decarburization process. The rephosphorization condition higher rate period was then clarified based on those experiments. Next, commercial-scale plant converter. generation promoted increasing flow and raising lance height early stage amount dephosphorization blowing increased. Finally, model constructed...
The effects of three flux addition methods on hot metal desulfurization with mechanical stirring were investigated in a 1/12-water model test and 70 kg test. studied here top the bath surface first period (batch addition), continuous from top, powder blasting nitrogen gas. rate when is applied larger than that either or batch addition. obtained aggregated slag (desulfurization flux) particle diameters after 0.76 mm addition) 0.38–0.44 (powder blasting). Desulfurization behavior was analyzed...
The establishment of test methods for determination the tension softening diagrams concrete has been desired. In this contribution, following discussions on existing J-integral approaches a simple and handy method from bending tests notched beams is proposed. features: (1) can be determined single beam specimen, (2) combined with RILEM fracture energy GF, (3) only load, loading point displacement crack opening at notch tip are necessary to measured, (4) second derivative potential introduced...
In order to promote utilization of scrap procured in the market and reduction energy consumption iron- steelmaking, it is necessary develop a practical method Cu removal. this study, removal from hot metal by sulfidation was identified as potential candidate for industrial use investigated laboratory experiments using ferrous sulfide (FeS) sodium carbonate (Na2CO3) commercially-available fluxes. A experiment on carried out 10 kg-scale furnace. occurred while feeding Na2CO3–FeS fluxes,...
The effects of temperature (1373–1673 K) and oxygen potential on removal sulfur from hot metal desulfurization slag were investigated in laboratory-scale experiments. Both CaS CaSO4 exist as compounds slag. can be removed under the condition higher potential, whereas at a lower potential. Thus, order to remove both slag, it is important control optimum values. In this study, ratio exceeding 90% was obtained conditions range 1473–1673 K 10−3−10−8 atm. These results good agreement with...
Ti3SiC2 is a typical Mn+1AXn (MAX) phase ceramic and exhibits both metal-like ceramic-like properties. To improve these properties, texturing Al2O3 addition were performed. The commercial powder used contained approximately 10 mass% TiC phase. Textured was prepared by slip casting in strong magnetic field (MF) followed spark plasma sintering (SPS) at 1623 K under pressure of 40 MPa for 5 min. Lotgering orientation factor the (00l) peaks an MF 0.96, relative density samples exceeded 99%....
In order to clarify the effect of lime (CaO) dissolution rate in slag on hot metal dephosphorization, a 150 kg scale dephosphorization experiment was carried out. The decrease free CaO and were measured while varying ratio SiO2, which defined as basicity.
Recently, interest in the art of dephosphorization steelmaking has turned toward relatively lower basicity slag saturated with a [2CaO·SiO2-3CaO·P2O5] solid solution rather than CaO-saturated slag. In this work, laboratory experiments were carried out order to investigate change phosphorus-concentrated phase low Phosphorus-containing was added onto 10 kg hot metal, and its lowered through desiliconization reaction metal at 1573 K.
This paper investigates the relationship between spalling behavior and weight loss for ultra-high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete (UFC) containing different types short fibers (jute, PP, WSPVA) in high-temperature environments at 400, 600 800 °C. The explosive that occurred under these conditions caused severe damage to control specimen but only slight with jute fiber. It was therefore inferred adding 0.19% by volume of natural (length: 12 mm) UFC is effective prevention spalling-related damage.
In order to understand effect of operating conditions on mass transfer between different phases in a mechanically stirred vessel, cold model study was carried out with liquid paraffin as dispersion phase and ion-exchanged water continuous phase. Inner diameter D, varied conjunction both depth, H0, D=H0=400 300 mm. Rotation speed, N, changed 50–240 rpm, volume ratio, Voil/Vw, dispersed 5.9×10–2 1.2×10–1.Liquid/liquid rate showed characteristic trend depending liquid/liquid mixing pattern. It...
In view of obtaining fundamental information on phosphorus recovery from steelmaking slag and sewage sludge, a laboratory experiment using the model specimen slag/sludge mixture prepared at 1573 K was carried out to investigate phase relation in [CaO-SiO2-P2O5]-based system. The triangular compositional region, comprising apices CaO·SiO2 (CS), 3CaO·P2O5 (C3P), 2CaO·SiO2-3CaO·P2O5 solid solution (C2S-C3Pss), considered with particular interest. this SEM-EDX observation it found that saturated...
In this study, we examined the relationship between spalling behaviour and ratio of UFC with three kinds short fibers (jute, polypropylene, water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol) at high temperature. The heating temperatures were 400 °C 600 °C. Although specimen jute fiber dosage 0.19% by volume was occurred explosive spalling, damage slightly small. It appears that addition to is effective for preventing spalling.
Control of the silicon content in hot metal is one important strategy for better dephosphorization and subsequent BOF operation. For this purpose, desiliconization carried out by addition iron oxide at tilting runner blast furnace casthouse. Since determined mass transfer FexO slag as well low concentration range, attention should be focused on mixing desiliconizing agent runner. The authors therefore applied a swirling flow to metal, aiming effective removal. A basic investigation was water...
Bond quality is an important factor that affects the performance of repaired members. In patching repair, interfacial cracking and delamination due to shrinkage repair materials are often observed. this study, flexural bond strength tests using jointed specimens were carried out, tension softening diagrams determined by experimental load-CMOD curves. These adopted as properties in numerical analyses predict behavior. For crack injection based on Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) out under...
Several studies have examined the reduction behavior of manganese ore at high temperature with aim reducing cost in steelmaking process. However, transformation compounds temperatures had not yet been clarified. Therefore, this paper, effects and oxygen partial pressure, as well chemical composition, on melting were investigated by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) thermogravimetry-differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA) order to obtain fundamental information pre-reduction process ore. The main...
Development of a practical method Sn removal in the steelmaking process is necessary from viewpoints promoting use scrap procured market and reducing energy consumption. It well known that promotes surface cracks billets hot rolling by coexisting with Cu. Although various methods have been investigated laboratory experiments, enough efficiency for commercially has not obtained. In present study, high-S metal NH3 gas blowing was experiments as new removal. The experiment on carried out using...

Following employed; top bath surface at the first period desulfurization, continuous from powder blasting with nitrogen gas. Desulfurization rate is larger than addition. The obtained aggregated slag (desulfurization flux) particle diameters after were 0.76 mm (top addition) 0.38~0.44 (powder blasting), respectively. behavior analyzed assuming interfacial...
