With water treatment plants providing a viable solution for removal of microplastics from the environment, this review examines overall and stage-wise efficiency various technologies in removing managing wastes. More than 80 scholarly papers published past 10 years were reviewed. This showed highly variable with primary wastewater plant reported to remove 16.5 98.4% microplastics. Secondary has ranging 78.1 100% 7% (activated sludge) 99.9% (membrane reactor). Tertiary removes an 87.3% above...

Silica aerogels have gained much interest due to their unique properties, such as being the lightest solid material, having small pore sizes, high porosity, and ultralow thermal conductivity. Also, advancements in synthesis methods enabled creation of silica aerogel-based composites combination with different materials, for example, polymers, metals, carbon-based structures. These new silica-based materials combine properties other create a reinforced architecture significantly valuable uses...

The current status of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in the water environment Malaysia was examined and reported. For inspection, two rivers sewage treatment plants (STPs) were selected. Two activated carbons derived from oil palm (ACfOPS) coconut (ACfCS) shells proposed as adsorbent to remove AgNPs. It found that concentrations AgNPs STPs are ranges 0.13 10.16 mg L-1 20.02 L-1, respectively, with highest concentration measured July. ACfOPS ACfCS removed up 99.6 99.9% AgNPs, water. interaction...
