Psychopharmacological studies were conducted on an extract of Andrographis paniculata herbs. The exhibited a significant alteration in behaviour pattern and reduction spontaneous motility. also produced prolongation the pentobarbitone-induced sleeping time lowered body temperature different experimental animal models.

Abstract Studies were carried out to evaluate the influence of methanol fraction Pluchea indica Less root extract (PIRE), dual inhibitors (BW 755C and phenidone) vitamin on both in vivo vitro free radical‐scavenging activities, CCl 4 ‐induced lipid peroxidation metabolism arachidonic acid by lipoxygenase. PIRE produced significant antiinflammatory activity against glucose oxidase‐induced paw oedema ( ), inhibited hydroxyl radical superoxide generation, lysis erythrocytes induced hydrogen...

The methanol fraction of the root extract Tragia involucrata was investigated for psychopharmacological activity in rodents. It produced an alteration behavioural pattern and a reduction spontaneous motility. A significant potentiation pentobarbitone-induced sleep, decrease body temperature, suppression aggressive behaviour conditioned avoidance response (CAR) were observed with fraction. These suggest that T. possesses central nervous system depressant action.

ABSTRACT Rodents treated with extract from Xanthium strumarium Linn. (Compositae) exhibited alterations in general behavior patterns, reduction spontaneous motility, prolongation of pentobarbitone-induced sleep, suppression exploratory and avoidance response. The observations suggested had significant depressant action the central nervous system.
