We have been performing arthroscopic superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) with acellular dermal allograft for almost 2 years. Our techniques are based on Mihata's original concept SCR, in which he used fascia lata autograft. In this report, we describe our standard technique as well variations of a "zip-line" technique, found particularly useful large allografts (grafts that ≥40 mm any dimension).

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the early outcome shoulder tendon transfer in patients with brachial plexus injury and determine factors associated favorable outcomes.Fifty-two traumatic a paralytic were included study. All evaluated at mean nineteen months (range, twelve twenty-eight months) postoperatively. Twelve had C5-6 injury, twenty-two C5-7 five C5-8 thirteen C5-T1 injury. Transfer lower portion trapezius muscle performed either isolation or as part multiple transfers...

Superior capsular reconstruction (SCR) of the shoulder has recently gained popularity as an option for joint-preserving surgery patients with irreparable rotator cuff tear. In absence glenohumeral arthritis, tear irreparability should only be diagnosed most after a careful diagnostic arthroscopy. adds biological, passive, superior constraint to joint, thereby optimizing force couples and improving joint kinematics. At short-term follow-up, SCR been shown effective pain relief restoration...

After elbow fracture-dislocation, surgeons confront numerous treatment options in pursuing a stable joint for early motion. The relative contributions of the radial head and coronoid, combination, to stability have not been defined fully. The purpose this study was evaluate effect an approximately 50% transverse coronoid fracture fixation setting intact or resected on coronal (varus/valgus) axial (internal external rotational) laxity (1) gravity varus stress; (2) valgus stress...

Monopolar and bipolar radial head prosthetic arthroplasties have been used successfully to treat elbow fracture-dislocation with unsalvageable fractures. The relative stability of these two designs in different clinical situations is a topic ongoing investigation. We tested the effects monopolar fixed-neck implants on improvement coronal axial plane laxity terrible triad biomechanical model that accounted for lateral collateral ligament integrity presence transverse coronoid...

Aims Animal models have been developed that allow simulation of post-traumatic joint contracture. One such model involves contracture-forming surgery followed by surgical capsular release. This allows testing antifibrotic agents, as rosiglitazone. Methods A total 20 rabbits underwent surgery. Eight weeks later, the animals a Ten received rosiglitazone (intramuscular initially, then orally). The were sacrificed following 16 free cage mobilisation. joints tested biomechanically, and posterior...

ABSTRACT Animal models of joint contracture may be used to elucidate the mechanisms arthrofibrosis. Patients with commonly undergo surgical capsular release. Previous animal do not simulate this aspect We hypothesize that a release will decrease severity arthrofibrosis in rabbit model. A was surgically created 20 skeletally mature rabbits. Eight weeks later, ten rabbits underwent release, which consisted elevation posterior capsule through lateral incision and manipulation under anesthesia....

Polyethylene (PE) liner and femoral head exchange is commonly used to treat periprosthetic osteolysis associated with PE wear after total hip arthroplasty (THA). The purpose of our study was determine long-term implant survivorship, risk factors for mechanical failure, clinical outcomes, complications following exchange. We identified 116 hips in 110 patients treated from 1993 2004.
