Manganese carbonyl compounds can release CO when exposed to light, potentially becoming photochemically activated CO-releasing molecules (photoCORMs). Several studies have demonstrated the behavior in ground state irradiated with...
The synthesis and characterization of three ligands their respective heterobinuclear FeIIIZnII complexes were carried out, with the goal mimicking active site purple acid phosphatases (PAPs). ligand 2-hydroxy-3-(((2-hydroxy-5-methyl-3-(((2-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl)(pyridin-2-ylmethyl)amino)methyl)benzyl)(pyridin-2ylmethyl)amino)methyl)-5-methylbenzaldehyde (H2L2) was synthesized its complex (FeIIIZnIIL2) used as a basis for comparison similar previously published in literature. Subsequent...
Three new manganese carbonyl compounds with heavy atom donors were synthesized and their potential use as photoCORMS was evaluated.
Three new photoCORM, two with non nonbonding pyridine and one benzyl group, were synthesised, their CO-releasing properties evaluated for regards to elusive binding mode.
The new luminescent carbonyl compounds [Mn(Oxa-H)(CO)3Br] (1) and [Mn(Oxa-NMe2)(CO)3Br] (2) were synthesized fully characterized. Complexes 1 2 showed CO release under blue light (λ453). Spectroscopic techniques TD-DFT SOC-TD-DFT calculations indicated that the Oxa-H Oxa-NMe2 coligands in addition to ligands, increasing luminescence during photoinduction.
Currently, there is great interest in the study of water-soluble metal compounds capable releasing carbon monoxide, due to their potential therapeutic use. This paper reports synthesis, spectroscopic characteristics and CO release properties three manganese(I) carbonyl [Mn(aaz)(CO) 3 ]Br (1; where aaz = 6-amino-6-methylperhydro-1,4-diazepine), [Mn(Me 2 aaz)(CO) (2; Me 6-amino-1,4,6-trimethyl-1,4-diazacycloheptane) [Mn(tacn)(CO) (3; tacn 1,4,7-triazacyclononane), that can act as photoCORMs...
Carbonyl compounds are widely explored in medicinal inorganic chemistry and have drawn attention due to their signaling functions homeostasis. Carbon-monoxide-releasing molecules (CORMs) were developed with the purpose of keeping CO inactive until its release intracellular environment, considering biological relevance. However, for therapeutic applications, mechanisms photorelease which electronic structural variations influence rates must be fully understood. In this work, four ligands...
A bis(picolyl)amine ligand was functionalized with a long alkyl chain, and two iron(iii) complexes were prepared their biological activity presented.
