Although carpal tunnel release is one of the most commonly performed procedures in USA, morphology as determined previously literature has been questioned. Previous methodology questioned for accuracy by recent studies. The purpose this study was to perform a morphological analysis and correlate hand dimensions. tunnels ten cadaveric specimens were emptied their contents silicone cast then created. This digitized, dimensions calculated. These compared with measured specimens. width, depth,...

This study aims to examine the subjective functional outcomes of patients 70 years or older who sustained distal radius fractures through use Disability Arm, Shoulder, and Hand (DASH) Short Form-8 Health (SF-8) surveys.Patients at least old with a fracture between 2000 2004 were identified their charts reviewed. They contacted answer DASH SF-8 surveys. The radiographic injury parameters examined articular stepoff greater than 2 mm, dorsal tilt on lateral radiograph, ulnar variance, presence...

Transection of the transverse carpal ligament (TCL) for tunnel syndrome is commonly performed, yet actual knowledge TCL morphology rudimentary and anatomical terminology inconsistently used. The purpose this study was to perform a morphological analysis TCL, redefine concerning surrounding structures, evaluate any correlation between external, measurable hand dimensions, dimensions. A silicone casting technique digitization were employed measure in cadaveric specimens construct...

We report the functional and radiographic results of 16 patients with fracture-dislocations ring little finger carpometacarpal joints 23 cases only joint treated between 2006 2012. The above two cohort populations were either open reduction pin fixation or closed fixation. These followed for a mean 13 months (range 9 to 48). DASH scores 6.0 7.2. found no differences in term after treatment both joints. Level evidence: IV

Complications with the use of Artelon spacer in thumb carpometacarpal (CMC) joint arthritis include inflammation, osteolysis, and persistent pain. We evaluated our short-term results complications.A retrospective review 29 patients was performed. Pre- postoperative radiographs, operative techniques, complications, subsequent surgeries were analyzed. Pearson's chi-squared testing used to identify associations between complications surgical technique or preoperative radiographic criteria. The...

The purpose of this study was to investigate the efficiency different implant-decontamination methods regarding biofilm modification and potential cytotoxic effects. Therefore, amount reduction, cytocompatibility, elementary surface alterations were evaluated after decontamination titanium zirconium surfaces.Titanium disks contaminated with a newly developed high-adherence consisting six microbial species. Decontaminations performed using curette, stainless steel ultrasonic scaler (US),...
