Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a proliferative disorder the developing retina. Intravitreal bevacizumab injection (IVB) an emerging treatment for severe forms ROP, which does not restrict visual field in comparison to laser therapy. The present study aimed determine and evaluate risk factors ROP recurrence following IVB injection.

Background: Eyes are the most sensitive organs to sulfur mustard (SM). Late ocular complications have been reported even 15–20 years post-exposure. To date, no study has investigated composition of tear proteins in samples SM-intoxicated patients. Methods: Total protein content as well concentrations vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) and substance P were measured unstimulated tears chemically-injured patients who suffer from late SM. These...

Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intravitreal injection (IVI) bevacizumab (IVB) versus aflibercept (IVA) in premature infants with type 1 prethreshold retinopathy prematurity (ROP) posterior Zone II. Methods: The study was a multicenter, historical cohort newborns diagnosed ROP II, treated IVB or IVA. Demographic features, complications, treatment outcomes were then compared between two groups. Results: Seventy-six patients received (the IVA group), 210 group). groups not...

To investigate retinal layers' thickness and vascular density after successful scleral buckle surgery using the optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) method. In this prospective interventional case-control study, 24 patients with macular-off rhegmatogenous detachment (RRD) were included performing reattachment by buckling. Retinal assessed in OCTA method compared to normal fellow eyes as controls 10 months postoperation.Inner layers showed no significant difference, but there was a...

Objectives: Due to recent advances in caring for premature neonates, retinopathy has become an important cause of preventable blindness and ocular disabilities. Therefore, more attention is paying its diagnostic-therapeutic methods. Thus, the current trial assessed efficacy oral propranolol on treatment prematurity (ROP) neonates. Materials Methods: In trial, 58 neonates with ROP were included (0.5 mg/kg every 8 hours) was compared control group. Results: intervention group, stage almost...

Abstract Background Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a proliferative disorder the developing retina. Intravitreal bevacizumab injection (IVB) an emerging treatment for ROP one treatments has many benefits. The present study aimed to determine and evaluate risk factors recurrence following IVB injection. Materials method In this retrospective study, 98 eyes 49 infants with who had received injections as primary type 1 are included. Results Fifty-four (55.1%) Aggressive posterior...

Our study aims to evaluate and compare the macular microvascular condition of intravitreal Bevacizumab (IVB)-treated retinopathy prematurity (ROP) cases preterm without ROP spontaneously regressed ROPs. It is a retrospective cohort 50 premature neonates visited from 2016 2017 for screening in Nikookari Eye Hospital recalled re-evaluation 2022. These patients were classified into three groups based on their medical documents: 1. Preterm (PT), 2. Spontaneously ROPs (SR), 3. IVB-treated (IVB)....
