We detail the design of Department Hidden Stories (DoHS), a mobile-based game to support playful digital storytelling among primary school children in public libraries. Through process iterative collaboration with library staff and children's writers we designed DoHS potential for through interactions books. Dazzle camouflage (Razzle Dazzle) used by the UK and US Navy during WW1 and, to a lesser extent, WW2, has emerged as an illuminating visual metaphor view creative responses of some women military veterans (post)deployment identities. My piece, "Start Hare", - ‘nursery noir’ story-within-a-story is extract from my novel for young adults that responds bright colours, fractured design, use counter-shading characterises Razzle camouflage.
