A polysaccharide-enriched extract obtained from Lentinula edodes was submitted to several purification steps separate three different D-glucans with β-(1→6), β-(1→3),(1→6) and α-(1→3) linkages, being characterized through GC-MS, FT-IR, NMR, SEC colorimetric/fluorimetric determinations. Moreover, in vitro hypocholesterolemic, antitumoral, anti-inflammatory antioxidant activities were also tested. Isolated glucans exerted HMGCR inhibitory activity, but only β-(1→6) fractions showed DPPH...
A β-D-glucan was obtained from the edible mushroom Pholiota nameko by hot aqueous extraction and purification. NMR methylation analyses of purified fraction (GHW-PN, 1.46% yield) indicated presence a (1 → 3)-linked β-D-glucan, highly substituted (~27%) at O-6 single units β-D-Glcp or 6)-β-D-Glcp fragments. The β-glucan (at 0.5, 1, 2%) showed shear thinning behavior when concentration solution increased, there an increase in apparent viscosity. presented gel-like thermal stability under...

After the Coronavirus pandemic, importance of virus surveillance was highlighted, reinforcing constant necessity discussing and updating methods for collection diagnoses, including other respiratory viruses. Although nasopharyngeal swab is gold-standard sample detecting genotyping SARS-CoV-2 Influenza viruses, its uncomfortable requires specialized teams, which can be costly. During non-invasive saliva samples proved to a suitable alternative diagnosis, but use this source not recognized...
Introduction:The Human Influenza Virus (IFV) and severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV2) are both etiologic agents for upper diseases can be lethal. Both evolve spread rapidly, being an outbreak risk, like global H1N1 2009 COVID19 pandemics.Samples of nasopharyngeal secretion (NS), followed by RT-PCR, is the gold standard detection method. However, saliva could alternative sampling, more attractive since painless easy to collect, mainly in children. Objectives:The aim this...
