We have demonstrated a broadband waveguide polariser with high extinction ratio on polymer optical coated graphene oxide via the drop-casting method. The highest of nearly 40 dB is measured at 1590 nm, variation 4.5 across wavelength range from 1530 nm to 1630 that (to our knowledge) reported for graphene-based polarisers date. This result achieved coating length along propagation direction only 1.3 mm and bulk film thickness 2.0 µm. underlying principles strongly polarisation dependent loss...
The optical characteristics of graphene oxide (GO) were explored to design and fabricate a GO-based humidity sensor. GO film was coated onto SU8 polymer channel waveguide using the drop-casting technique. proposed sensor shows high TE-mode absorption at 1550 nm. Due dependence dielectric properties on water content, this decreases when ambient relative increases. rapid response (<1 s) periodically interrupted humid air flow. transmission linear 0.553 dB/% RH in range 60% 100% RH.

The reflective configuration of this optical structure offers the advantages simple fabrication ease To achieve balance between responsiveness robustness, entire embedded low Teflon, except 0.5–2 mm diameter sensing region. sensor has exhibited linear spectral response with index. small change free range observed when experiences large surrounding medium. found...
Abstract Increased absorption of transverse-magnetic (TM) - polarised light by a graphene-oxide (GO) coated polymer waveguide has been observed in the presence transverse-electric (TE) light. The GO-coated exhibits very strong photo-absorption TE-polarised and acts as TM-pass polariser. absorbed causes significant temperature increase GO film induces thermal reduction GO, resulting an optical-frequency conductivity consequently increased optical propagation loss. This behaviour gives action...
Previous studies indicated that the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 vaccines may contribute to idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss (ISSNHL). This nationwide study sought evaluate correlation between infection vaccination with ISSNHL. case–control analysed samples from adults aged 18 years older who visited otorhinolaryngology department in 32 government hospitals Malaysia for pure tone audiometry(PTA) January 25, 2020 June 30, 2022. Cases comprised patients diagnosed ISSNHL, while...
Generally, in a waveguide-based humidity sensors, increasing the relative (RH) causes cladding refractive index (RI) to increase due water absorption. However, if graphene oxide (GO) is used, reverse phenomenon seen gap layers. In this paper, interesting property applied order fabricate differential sensor using difference between RI of reduced GO (rGO) and nano-anatase TiO2 chip. First, new approach proposed prepare high quality solution form making fabrication process simple...

Abstract This work has demonstrated the potential of a reduced graphene oxide silver/polyvinyl alcohol (rGO-Ag/PVA) film as saturable absorber (SA) in ytterbium and erbium based Q-switched optical fiber lasers. The facile hydrothermal method was used to synthesize nanocomposite between rGO Ag nanoparticles. followed by simple solution form rGO-Ag using PVA host polymer. From nonlinear absorption characterization, rGO-Ag/PVA SA determined have modulation depth 30%, nonsaturable loss 70%,...
Abstract A wide-band and tunable Q-switched erbium-doped fiber (EDF) laser operating at 1560.5 nm with a tungsten ditelluride (WTe 2 ) saturable absorber (SA) is demonstrated. The semi-metallic nature of WTe as well its small band gap excellent nonlinear optical properties make it an SA material. cavity uses 89.5 cm long EDF, pumped by 980 diode the linear gain while based generates pulsed output. has modulation depth, non-saturable loss saturation intensity about 21.4%, 78.6%, 0.35 kW/cm...
