This study aimed to compare the levels of tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) between apical periodontitis lesions with different clinical histological features. Based on data history disease, 100 human were categorised as either asymptomatic or symptomatic lesions. According examination, divided into periapical granulomas radicular cysts. Pulp tissues 25 impacted wisdom teeth used controls. Homogenised tissue samples centrifuged...
The oral cavity has been proposed as a reservoir for H. pylori that could be responsible the refractoriness of gastric infection to triple therapy (antibiotics, antimicrobials, and proton pump inhibitors). aim this study was evaluate efficiency combined periodontal vs. alone, in eradication persons with subgingival biofilm. Individuals positive their samples, determined by nested PCR, were treated either or alone. Our results indicate 77.3% those exhibited successful pylori, compared 47.6%...
Abstract : Apoptosis is a genetically regulated process involved in tissue size regulation, morphogenesis, and elimination of damaged cells. A pallet genes the control apoptosis, such as bcl‐2 family whose oncogenic potential has been demonstrated oral tumorigenesis. Different members may promote or inhibit apoptosis by synthesizing anti‐ proapoptotic proteins. One antiapoptotic proteins, bcl‐2, with crucial role regulation was object our study. By means immunohistochemistry we estimated...
The placement of fixed orthodontic appliances may lead to increased plaque accumulation and changes in subgingival microflora. aim this study was examine the frequency microflora that occur after removal appliance using polymerase chain reaction (PCR). This included 33 patients, who were divided into two groups. Subgingival samples collected from right upper incisor (U1) first molar (U6). In group A, taken three times: before (T1), one month (T2), 3 months (T3). B also PCR method used...
Because apical periodontitis is recognizably an infectious disease, elimination or reduction of intracanal bacteria utmost importance for optimum treatment outcome. The prevalence Enterococcus faecalis and Porphyromonas gingivalis in infected root canals was studied Also, the effect endodontic therapy by using medicaments, calcium hydroxide paste (CH) gutta-percha points containing (CH-GP) chlorhexidine (CHX-GP) on these microorganisms assessed polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assay.Fifty-one...
ABSTRACT Background The influence of gastric Helicobacter pylori infection on the development oral pathoses remains unclear. aim this study is to examine H. occurrence halitosis and coated tongue. Materials methods Ninety-eight patients with dyspepsia were included in their salivary samples biopsies analyzed for presence by Nested-PCR. Halitosis tongue assessed at initial examination 3 months after systemic eradication therapy against . Results Gastric 66 positive Only one saliva sample was...
Abstract The aim was to investigate the detection rates of periodontal bacteria ( Porphyromonas gingivalis, Tannerella forsythia, Prevotella intermedia , and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans ) herpesviruses (herpes simplex virus‐1 [HSV‐1], cytomegalovirus [CMV], Epstein‐Barr virus [EBV]) in different forms severity disease, compare them with those periodontally healthy subjects. One hundred twenty‐nine patients participated study: 39 diagnosed abscess (PA), 33 necrotizing ulcerative...
The aim of this study was to assess TERT-CLPTM1L single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (rs402710 C/T in the CLPTM1L gene; rs2736100 A/C and rs2736098 G/A TERT gene) as risk factors for development oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC), investigate relationship between analyzed polymorphisms, relative telomere length (RTL), telomerase expression clinicopathologic characteristics OSCC a Serbian population. Paraffin-embedded tumor samples buccal swabs from cancer-free controls were genotyped...
The aim of this study was to investigate the expression survivin, an inhibitor apoptosis, in odontogenic keratocysts and compare it findings non-neoplastic jaw cysts - periapical cysts, as well establish a possible relationship between survivin human cytomegalovirus presence within these cysts.Samples 10 (five positive five negative for cytomegalovirus, determined by polymerase chain reaction) presence) were analysed. assessed immunohistochemical methods, using monoclonal antibody that...
INTRODUCTION Periodontitis is an inflammatory disease of the supporting tissues teeth and a major cause tooth loss in adults. The onset progression periodontal attributed to presence elevated levels consortium pathogenic bacteria. Gram negative bacteria, mainly strict anaerobes, play role. OBJECTIVE present study aimed assess main types microorganisms involved aetiopathogenesis disease: Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Eikenella corrodens, Treponema denticola,...
Introduction. Pathogenesis and some characteristics of periodontitis cannot be fully explained by bacterial etiology alone. Herpes viruses may bridge the gap between clinical molecular understanding periodontal destruction. Objective. The aim this study was to investigate prevalence herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) healthy damaged periodontium Serbian population explore potential correlation presence level Methods. Samples were collected from...
Background/Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate the influence irradiation cycles and resting periods, on thermal effects external root surface during canal two diode laser systems (940 nm 975 nm), at output powers 1 W 2 continuous mode. In previous studies rising temperature above 7°C has been reported as biologically accepted avoid periodontal damage surface. Material Methods: Twenty human inferior incisors were randomly distributed into four groups, 940 nm, irradiation,...
We report here the development of a simple and low-cost intelligent vacuum sensor based on multipurpose thermopile MEMS chips. Our devices have p+Si heater two thermopiles with 30 p+Si/Al thermocouples each. Thermal electrical isolation is provided by sandwich membrane (residual n-Si sputtered oxide). The utilizes for its mode operation modified version an existing processing module we developed our piezoresistive sensors.
