Aims Cultivated limbal epithelial transplantation (CLET) fails in around 20%–30% of cases. This study aimed to report the clinical outcomes autologous simple (SLET) eyes with recurrent unilateral stem cell deficiency (LSCD) due failure CLET. Methods was a prospective case series which included 30 patients who underwent SLET between 2010 and 2016 after one (n=24) or two (n=6) previous CLET procedures for chronic ocular burns. The primary outcome measure success defined on basis relative...
Abstract Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) is considered the gold standard for identifying focal leaks in central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). However, there are situations where FFA cannot be performed, and alternative noninvasive investigations required to pinpoint area of leaks. We present a case 36-year-old female patient with bilateral steroid induced acute CSCR three distinct fluorescein-free signs converging same indicating presence leak.
To describe disease characteristics and outcomes of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada (VKH) syndrome in paediatric patients.Retrospective chart analysis.Analysis all patients ≤16 years with VKH was done. Clinical presentations, complications, recurrences cases were reviewed.72 eyes 36 a mean age at presentation 13.7 ± 2.34 assessed. Mean duration symptoms follow up 9.88 17.3 weeks 55 months respectively. signs included anterior chamber cells >2+(34/72eyes, 47.2%), granulomatous keratic precipitates (6...
This case report describes three eyes of two patients, who were diagnosed to have endogenous fungal endophthalmitis post coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. Both patients underwent vitrectomy with intravitreal anti-fungal injection. Intra-ocular samples confirmed the etiology by conventional microbiological investigations and polymerase chain reaction in both cases. The treated multiple oral agents; however, vision could not be salvaged.
Purpose: To report the prevalence of pachydrusen in Indian population and their characteristics relation to subfoveal choroidal thickness (SFCT), vascularity index (CVI) comparison eyes with soft drusen subretinal drusenoid deposits (SDD) age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Methods: The study was a retrospective, cross-sectional involving patients diagnosis dry AMD at least one eye. drusen, SDD, made on basis color fundus photograph optical coherence tomography (OCT). SFCT CVI calculated...
Intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapy is the mainstay in management of center-involving diabetic macular edema (CI-DME). Topical nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been used to treat CI-DME as well. Whether there any benefit using both together has not explored. The aim this study was compare visual acuity and OCT outcomes patients with who receive intravitreal anti-VEGF without topical NSAIDs CI-DME.This A retrospective observational two centers...
Purpose To report the visual and anatomical outcomes in eyes with peripapillary choroidal neovascularisation (CNV) through 12 months. Methods This was a multicentre, retrospective, interventional case series which included treatment-naïve cases of neovascular membrane (CNVM) minimum follow-up Multimodal imaging comprised optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescein angiography and/or indocyanine green performed at baseline visits. OCT parameters central macular thickness (CMT), subfoveal...
Abstract The rise of non‐invasive, rapid, and widely accessible quantitative high‐resolution imaging methods, such as modern retinal photography optical coherence tomography (OCT), has significantly impacted ophthalmology. These techniques offer remarkable accuracy resolution in assessing ocular diseases are increasingly recognized for their potential identifying biomarkers systemic diseases. application artificial intelligence (AI) been demonstrated to have promising results age, gender,...
Purpose: To identify optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) biomarkers in patients who were treated for diabetic macular oedema (DME) with intravitreal anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) injections and compare the OCTA parameters between responders non-responders. Methods: A retrospective cohort study of 61 eyes DME received at least one anti-VEGF injection was included July 2017 October 2020. The subjects underwent a comprehensive eye examination followed by an before...
PURPOSE: The aim of the study was to assess effect mitomycin-C (MMC) 0.02% application on corneal endothelium in patients undergoing photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) for correction myopia and compound myopic astigmatism. METHODS: A prospective observational including with who underwent PRK plus intraoperative MMC 0.02%. All noncontact specular microscopy preoperatively 6 months postoperatively. following parameters were analyzed: mean cell area (MCA), central endothelial density (ECD),...
Fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) is usually performed intravenously through injection of sodium dye. This procedure difficult to perform in children and patients who are afraid intravenous needles. Oral FFA can serve as a useful alternative many cases gives reliable results. We describe the recommended protocol technique for doing oral adults children.
Purpose: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is an emerging global health challenge characterized by progressive irreversible damage to the kidneys. The aim determine prevalence and types of retinal pathologies noted in patients diagnosed with CKD presenting a tertiary eye clinic South India. Methods: In this retrospective cross.sectional observational study, electronic medical records documented history between 2019 2022 were selected help pre.determined keywords. Basic demographic parameters...
